Great, one of the most annoying play by play guys ever. He tries to make dribbling the ball down the basketball court sound exciting, which can get really annoying when it sounds fake and it goes on for 3 hours.

From NFL games on CBS to College games on FX.

Unusual career move.

I love Gus Johnson. He makes everything so entertaining... even a 3 yard rush.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, they just called a timeout. Yeah he makes the entire game exciting and nauseating at the same time.

Seriously?

Ugh.

Well. Maybe the upset calling karma will even out and he'll be bad luck for USC ;)

He wanted to do more high-profile events and CBS said no. He's now the #1 college football guy for Fox (whatever that's worth). He's going to do some NFL games after the CFB regular season ends and he's going to call the Cotton Bowl and do college basketball for Fox and the Big Ten Network (which is partly owned by Fox). Fox is going to start showing UFC events as well and Gus will probably be the announcer for that, too.

CBS let him go.
Not totally correct, he tried to hold CBS up for more money. CBS called his bluff and he had to put his tail between his legs and leave.

He also did the same thing with the Knicks and his radio gig there, the Knicks also called his bluff and told him to take a hike.

NO UFC. Part of the deal when UFC signed their contract with FOX is their UFC TV guys do all the announcing. No FOX guys will work UFC events...ever

Agree, only thing worse is female play-by-play especially Beth Mowins. She has a way of over hyping everything too.

I love Gus, but he's called seemingly every recent soul-crushing SU tournament moment. Total jinx.

But in those cases we were the favorite. We'll be the underdog darling against U$C so maybe that'll work in our favor.
