another joke article from Seth Davis

also ironic that the only Cuse mention is in regards to BF, and this article is released the day one of the accusers admits lying.

Considering the meme of the week - that we don't have "the dude" - one of the storylines for the 2nd half HAS to be based on that - either do we develop a dude, do we already have one that will become clear, do we need one or can you win with balance - something.

I saw that article the day he wrote it and didn't even think it was worth mentioning or posting.

Dion Waiters is the "Dude". You cant have a potential lottery pick on your team with guts and desire and not have a "Dude".

We havent had to take a game winning shot but Dion has certainly made plenty of clutch plays to stop comebacks.

It actually came out like 3-4 days ago. I saw it early in the week. Meh...he will come around eventually.

Isaiah Cannon with the best half of the year? :bang: Seth Davis is a moron.

I guess 7-7 from 3 in the first half of a game against a terrible Austin Peay is impressive, but no way it's more impressive than Brandon Paul's second half against Ohio State. Not even close. He scored the final 15 points for Illinois, 28 in the half, and was 5 for 6 from three (against a real team).

I hate these sportswriters who think it's super-awesome to reference small schools because it's cool to make it seem like you watch mid-majors play all the time. Blah.

...perhaps we should cancel subscriptions to SI...although I would miss the swim suite issue...at least the boobs are real in that case unlike Davis who is a phony boob when reporting on basketball.

I don't like the guy, but I honestly don't have a problem with this article. I know our rallying cry this year is "we get no respect", but which of those categories should we have been mentioned in? I suppose you could make an argument for coach of the half year. I usually don't a coaching award should ever go to the one that has the most talent, and haven't most of us been asserting we're the deepest (aka most talented) 1 through 10? Our depth hasn't allowed any one player to shine, so we shouldn't have anyone in any of those categories. We haven't played a close enough game for any of them to be considered the best. We can't be a surprise team because we were preseason top 5. The big east is a little down this year, so for once I agree with us not being the best conference. Right now, having enough media and coaches respecting us to make us #1 is good enough for me. If this team continues to stay hungry, play together, and take care of business we'll cut down the nets in march and then we won't care what anyone does or doesn't think or write.

I saw that performance by Paul and it was incredible.

Looks like were aren't the only fan base that has a problem with Seth.

Most of the pundints give that distinction to Kentucky, they have at least 5 NBA players on their roster, how many does SU have?

Ok, so maybe we're the second most talented (or third or fourth...). It's been a consensus that we're the deepest. If you take a second to not be nitpicky, my overall point was that people were claiming we were yet again disrespected in the article, and I don't think we really were. In regards to the "coach of the half year" category, I said that's the only one we could even be considered for, it wasn't a slam on JB.
