NCAA College Football Coaches Poll | USA Today Sports
Can't say for Navy but Army has steamrolled their opponentsI’d like to see a breakdown of SEC- and B1G-based voters for Army and Navy. I’d wager that they would automatically sooner put Army or Bavy in the Top 25 than possibly deserving ACC or Big12 team.
Just win baby. Screw their respect.Need to start blowing people out. Can’t keep almost giving away games to bad teams and expecting respect

Michigan plays IllinoisOnly ones I really have a problem with being ranked are Michigan. That’s a joke. And Army and Navy are good, but would not be ranked if they played in a real conference because each would likely have lost by now.
If Daniel‘s fourth down pass hits Lewis’ arm we are ranked top 20. but it didn’t, so we are 31, but anyone 15-30 is very subjective, and mostly based on name and reputation.
and as was posted. margin of victory is not impressing posters.

Granted they are weak as heck, but they've dominated
Edit
Navy has dominated their opponents too
They both have played a pantry full of soup cans year to date
Their SOS is in the 120sI went to Army vs Rice @ Michie Stadium a few weeks back.
Rice was BAD.
They basically had 1 good player, who got the ball like 90% of the time.
Army’s QB is like a poor man’s Dungey. But at a lower level.
They aren’t remotely a Top 25 team.
You get “extra credit” for defeating a top 25 team especially on the road, so we will have that going for us, but of course you get “extra, extra, extra credit“ if you beat an SEC or Big 10 top 25 team anywhere, so that will go against us.We aren’t sniffing the Top 25 unless we win the next two games. Pitt is an absolute must win, but even that may not get us in the polls by itself. Damn that Stanford game.
Everybody knows we lost at home to a horrible Stanford team that likely won’t win another game. It will take a lot of wins to change that perception.Honestly I prefer having the chip on our shoulder. The Stanford loss stings but we have beat likely 4 bowl teams, 2 on the road. We should be ranked, but it doesn’t matter if we don’t beat Pitt.
Syracuse is 54th, 74.07.Current Sagarin. Only one team on our schedule is currently Top 36. Our best OOC is #42. That Stanford loss hurts. Our SOS thus far is 89th.
We are exactly in the middle of the ACC (9th). Still step one is to get into the Top half of the ACC. Step two get ahead of the Top FCS. Step three get to 5th in the ACC (25% teams above and 75% below). Step four get to 2nd in the Northeast. Step five finish ahead of the 2nd best G5 team. I think all of those are possible and realistic goals. We would need to get to the Top 35 to have a shot.
1. Texas #1
2. Ohio State highest B18 and highest with an L
6. Notre Dame highest non SEC/B18
9. Penn State highest Northeast
10. Iowa State highest B12
12. Miami highest ACC and best on our schedule
13. Clemson 2nd highest ACC
15. K State 2nd best B12
17. SMU
21. Boise State highest G5 and best MWC
22. Louisville
34. Tulane 2nd best G5 and best AAC
35. West Virginia 2nd best Northeast
37. Pitt 2nd best on our schedule
38. VA Tech
39. South Dakota State highest FCS
42. UNLV
45. Cal
50. GA Tech
54. Cuse best in NY State
Stanford is bad, at best they go 4-8 (Wake at home and at San Jose State), just a painful loss for us. Glad we have rebounded, howeverEverybody knows we lost at home to a horrible Stanford team that likely won’t win another game. It will take a lot of wins to change that perception.
