Syracuse Defenseman Tyson Bomberry Doubtful vs. Army

Coming off of the Orange’s loss vs. Albany last Saturday, junior defenseman Tyson Bomberry is next expected to play vs. Army. An athletics department spokesman confirmed that Bomberry had sustained “a minor injury,” but contrary to tips that prompted the inquiry, told IL “it is most certainly not a season-ending injury.”

A starter in 2017, Bomberry picked up two groundballs and caused two turnovers in the Orange’s first two games this season.

Army’s Surdick Probable vs. Syracuse

Army senior defenseman Johnny Surdick is probable after missing the Rutgers game with an upper body injury, Army head coach Joe Alberici tells IL. An honorable mention All-American in 2017, Surdick had four groundballs and two caused turnovers in the Black Knights’ season-opening wins over UMass and NJIT.

Army is 3-0, the Orange are 1-1 and face-off is set for 2 p.m. from the Carrier Dome.

Sucks to have Bomberry out but Army doesn't have any bigger size Attackmen so it may not be a devestating loss.

Dipietro most likely with Kennedy sprinkled in. There not going to move Fusco or Helmer as Army's midfield is its strength not its attack.
