News Channel 9 lead the 5:00 news with a story that Dino Babers has close contact with a person with COVID19 and is awaiting the results of a test.

If he has to sit out can we promote Gilbert to interim HC and let someone else call the plays?

Updated link:

“Coach Dino Babers was informed last night that someone with whom he had close contact tested positive for COVID-19. Coach Babers is following all University protocols and CDC public health guidance, including undergoing an immediate PCR test first thing this morning. Coach has not experienced any symptoms and will continue wearing a mask and following all public health guidelines pending the outcome of his COVID test.”

I think Sterlin is already calling the plays on offense.
We might as well let Tony White get a shot.

EDIT: Mike Lynch has been with Dino the longest, if that matters.

Do we really though? If this team can't beat Albany without Dino, were in more trouble then any of us thought.
YES YES YES. He needs to establish what he thinks is the formula for them to win. No matter the opponent they need reps, they need Dino working as much as the team on situational football. His biggest achilles heel is the actual coaching of the games.

if u were at the game you should be tested as well. no one around me wore a mask---it was a disgrace.--to many drunk people -- maybe they were the play callers!!! we are heading for a new low. i got tested tuesday.

What is the covid cancellation policy? (Driving up)

If he tests positive do we cancel?

If he is vaccinated, per the CDC he does not need to isolate. If he isn't vaccinated and we learn he is quarantining, this turns in to a big issue.

All Syracuse staff and students are required to be vaccinated besides very limited medical/religious exemptions. Would hope Syracuse didn't bend the rules for their highly paid football coach. PR nightmare in the making if it comes out he isn't vaccinated

They'd keep it under wraps.
