Apparently the BCS is now considering scaling back its involvement in post-season bowls.

It would simply pick the two top teams and stage a NC game.

The bowls would apparently go back to something resembling the old system - conferences would battle conferences in rivalry bowl games.

The move would perhaps make the bowls more relevant tham they have been in recent years.

But the elimination of the BCS AQ would seem to nullify the latest conference realignment moves.

And, the move might further consolidate power in the SEC and I guess the Pac 12, Big 10 and Big 12(?).

One thing is for certain, right now - there is no certainty when it comes to college football.

I wish every Bowl was pure free market. Let the Bowl offer money to a school to play there. I hate the idea of a conference having set Bowls they send teams to. There is no variety that way of matchups or locations.

This is the way it should be. You can move the BCS title game around the country and sell it to city's. That would make a boatload of money. Instead of playing it at the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl or Sugar Bowl a week later. Sell the game like the Super Bowl. One year its in Dallas. then sell it to Atlanta, or St.Louis, or Indy...etc! Wherever. Moving the game around would create a buzz in those cities.

Also they major bowls don't want to be stuck forced to take a Big East team or a TCU team or Boise. They just don't want them. This way they can create an attractive matchup on their own.
