Best cover versions of a song

Not a fan of everything Todd Rundgren has done, but this medley of classic soul covers is incredible and highlights what a genius he was when it came to studio production, along with his incredible vocal of course.

 
I'm gonna toss this one in here because it's always bothered me! :)

The Cardigans part is pretty great, however, the Tom Jones portion is abysmal...it repeatedly goes from fine to utter ***t whenever his turn arises...

The original is still fantastic...

I assume that anyone who prefers Springsteen’s Blinded by the Light over the Manfred Mann version is an undercover cop.

It’s wonderful, but it has been so over-exposed that I never need to hear it again.
It’s too bad because the others are tremendous ripoffs. This was completely original
 
If we are going the sad/melancholy route - here are a couple that always get me

Not 1, but 2! covers of "I Hung my Head" that are infinitely better than Sting
-Johnny Cash is the better known one
-Bruce Springsteen in full Bruce mode
