Anyways let's say hypothetically we had joined it this year somehow with the P12 schools do you think this years team with McCord could have won it?

I do. I think Stanford and Cal would both be near the top if they got in as well.

2-6 Kansas takes down in order undefeated Iowa State, undefeated BYU, and red hot playoff favorite Colorado in order and the Big 12 is supposed to be good?

The ACC doesn't have much to brag about this year. They don't have many good non-conference wins. Miami crushing Florida was a good win. The next best win might be Syracuse beating UNLV. The next best after a quick glance might be UNC over Minnesota (missed field goal to lose) week 1 but then they gave up 70 to James Madison and lost. I just looked over each team's schedules fast so maybe I'm missing a good win or two but I didn't see anything great for the ACC.

SMU lost to BYU if you want to pit top ACC teams against top Big 12 teams.
