A buddy's dad had a laser disc player. Never watched anything, we weren't allowed to mess with it.

later i remember buying my girl a VCR in the early 80's. cutting edge. only place to rent movies was the appliance store i bought it at. they had like a 6 x 6 display rack with about 40 movies.
and the people looking over them were all highbrows. i remember the first movie i rented SPLASH. (must be a darryl hannah thing.) fast forward and technology is ancient history. funny.
