Boeheim speaks from NYC

There is a game in NYC tomorrow? You sure wouldn't know it----if you scroll down on this entire first board page, there is not one post or discussion about the game tomorrow. A game which happens to be the very first test of the season, so for all intents and purposes the "real" opener! We'll not only finally get a chance to see how good this team can be against some good competition, but we'll also get to see what JB has in mind for his real rotation as well. But never mind--please carry on with the Bernie "got a source that is telling me" posts, and now the latest fad of the last 30 minutes of the mock source posts.
 
I like the fact JB says the alleged victims are liars looking for money.
Not just because hes standing for Bernie...

Because he is Nothing more then a Opinion in this case. Nothing more and nothing less. Being one with a opinion in this case means he is not responsible, even as a Head Coach.
Hes no different then anyone else with a opinion on Bernie.

He's alot different. He is the head coach with a problem on his staff and the mouthpiece of the University.
 
May have been discussed in another thread but does anyone else see the irony in the ex priest calling JB cowardly through the press?

He's definitely taken a softer approach, but won't go back and admit he was wrong calling them liars. I think there are a lot of ways to read into what he said, with one being to just take him at his word.
 
That game tomorrow is going to be a blow out. I will love every second of it.

Unfortunately, there's going to be a cloud hanging over this season until everything is settled.

It would be like the doctor telling you you might have cancer but he won't know for a few weeks.

Normally, Seth Davis' tweet that ND appears to be talking to the ACC would create a firestorm on the board.
Like yourself, I wish we could just talk about basketball and beers at the Blarney Rock.

But the Bernie Fine story isn't going away until it goes away.

Agree .The law and media look at his position, but truthfully he is just a guy with a opinion that davis is a liar.

So he gave his opinion he never had to say it was a fact or opinion. Its a opinion just like they babysitters, or Craig Forths.

The only thing he could have been guilty of doing better is letting a ball boy in Bernies room 3-8 times early in his career.

Your right he has to be involved and it sucks.

I love JB he is so old fashioned he doesn't care about rumors that are spread, or saying someone is guilty for something they have no realization of. Hes just a good old fashion guy.

so if victims came foward and "sources" in SU's athletic dept know about it -- dont you think someone would have gotten word to Coach B --

Couldn't disagree more. He publicly blasted alleged victims without knowing exactly what happened. This isn't an "opinion" situation. You stand by your friend and let the investigation reveal the facts, but you don't attack the alleged victims. That's crossing a major line.
 
Whos to say it was stated by JB as a fact or opinion though?

This guy did say JB saw him on Bernies bed first. Then later sounded like he changed it.

What if JB runs a zero tolerance for lying program? One lie means you would tell a million, and Bernie has never lied to him in 30 years. Where as this alleged accuser did in his first interview.
 
JB was calling him/them liars mainly on what transpired in the previous investigation. If there was nothing found at that time, why shouldn't JB call them liars now when they are preaching the same story. Or look at it another way in that Lang either lied then or now. Either way somebody is lying.

Its just the perception of calling a potential victim a liar. No reason he could not have said all that he did and left out the liar part.

He called him a liar, specifically relating to allegations Davis made that Boeheim saw him on Fine's bed in the hotel room. I guarantee you he knows if that was true or not. IT WAS A STATEMENT SPECIFICALLY ABOUT WHAT BOEHEIM HAD SEEN THAT JB WAS COMMENTING ON. The media turned it into some kind of general statement, and Davis basically contradicted himself on that statement in his next interview.

Nope, he also said they were doing it for money. I love the guy, but he overplayed this one. I think Nancy Cantor would agree with me.

Um, really? There was an investigation...by three different outlets, in which, the university hired a very respectable law firm to conduct theirs. How do you know what Boeheim is or isn't privey to? Maybe he has plenty of facts? If that investigation had revealed anything that made Bernie's character shoddy, I believe JB/the university would've parted ways with him...
