Class of 2019 Bryson Rhee (PA) A/M Flipped to Navy

Bryson Rhee ’19, M, Duke’s LC / Ephrata (Pa.)
This kid absolutely slings it from 10 to 12 yards out, doing so with consistency on Sunday to boost the Duke’s offense. When he wasn’t demonstrating an eye-popping shooting stroke with time and room, Rhee was creating offense coming down the alleys with a strong array of dodges to create separation from his man. Just as impressive, he gave some opposing middies trouble while locking them down down on the defensive end.

2 big time commits tonight. Unfortunately 2019 is a long as time away.

Bryson Rhee, M, Philadelphia Command (2019)/Syracuse

Rhee is one of those guys who just makes things happen. The dodging middie is clearly comfortable with both hands. He’s a legit creator of scoring opportunities, and it’s his diversity of approaches and dodges that gives him an edge over other midfielders.

Dukes is a solid club... saw of few of their teams play this summer and they were both really good.

Bryson Rhee ’19, M, Philadelphia / Academy of New Church (Pa.) – Syracuse
Rhee is a sniper with great range on his shots, finding scoring opportunities in a variety of ways. With time and room, the ‘Cuse-bound prospect can step down to uncork one, but he’s just as dangerous on the move, tying for sixth overall in tournament scoring statistics. With eight goals and four assists on the weekend, Rhee found himself amongst the most effective offensive scorers. He was also named to the All-Tournament Midfield in the Command division, a prestigious recognition in itself.

More than likely wasn't getting full ship from Cuse, which you get at Navy. Also, Navy is a fantastic education, and Annapolis is awesome. Stinks for cuse though.

I can't fault a kid for attending a Service Academy.

Ex Scientia Tridens !!

Johnny D, at it again, awful lot of talent has decommitted over the last two months or so.

I think this is another one of the challenges with early recruiting. Coaches are not allowed to communicate directly with recruit before their junior year. Once a kid commits coaches feel like he will keep his commitment meanwhile other programs start reaching out through the club coaches, showing the kid some love, and the rest is history. Looks like Bryson committed almost a year ago. Looks like he had a great summer, probably received a lot of attention from other programs and 'Cuse may have lost it's luster. Unless the JD and company are reaching out to the club coaches this is going to continue to happen. Wouldn't be surprised to see more 19 & 20's flip.

No lax player these days gets a full ride, there are only 12.5 scholarships available. In order to come close you need financial aid, grants, academic scholarships, etc. It's unfortunate that universities cost what they do these days.

Good luck to him as a midshipmen
