Buddy is Top 5 in NCAA in Made Threes

Just shows you what any kid is capable of doing if given enough minutes and a green light to shoot every time he touches the ball

We know he can shoot when open. When face guarded whats the % then

There are some fair criticisms of Buddy. I wish he was a better rebounder and defender. I’m hoping he continues developing there for the next two years. I also think he should be playing 30-35 minutes instead of 40 every night.

But it really can’t be disputed that the kid has exceeded expectations. He’s shooting 40% from 3 with a high volume of attempts, many of them difficult, deep shots. And his ability to take the ball to the basket has vastly improved recently.

I’m excited to see how he continues to develop the next 2 1/2 years.

He must be open a lot then because he's our most efficient shooter at the 2 this year in about a decade.

I mean, he's a 3 point shooting specialist, this should likely be the case from three.

Anyway, what do you mean by "most efficient" shooter?

Offensive rating?
Point per 40 minutes?
3 PT FG Pct alone?

He has done that! Definitely the type of player we've needed on the floor for a long time, but ignored.

Buddy will never have elite athleticism (but that is a prevalent thing in college bball). He would probably be a killer sixth man (this isn't a knock, I think he'd be in the running for all acc whether he started or was sixth man) if we had some better talent on the team or if we just had a bit more size/speed up top paired with him and he started. While I love the JGIII and Buddy pairing, I think the combo leaves a little to be desired on defense, not saying it won't improve in the coming years.

At his volume of three point shots, he's doing really well. And to your point, seeing him putting it on the deck has been really great.

If he gets a bit more strength and just improves his dribble a little bit, I think he'll make another jump. Not saying he will shoot over 40%, but I think he'll make those tough jumpers more consistently and do a good job of bullying guys on the drive a bit before his pull ups.

Listen to opposing teams pressers - Capel, Brey, etc ... they absolutely gush about Buddy. I believe it was Brey that said he has some of the best footwork he’s ever seen.

For a 3 point specialist he has the 3rd most 2's attempted this year and has made more 2's than Marek, Frank, Hughes, or Chukwu made all of last year. Also he has already made more 2's than Rautins made his entire career.
That last sentence is stunning. (Actually, it's 78-77 Andy right now, but Buddy has a good chance to pass him.)
