pretty awful. Brey pretty much carries the flag and has one Sweet 16 to his name. Most of them have been handed BCS jobs right out of the gates and squandered their opportunities.

Dawkins has an NIT banner to hang, Snyder had top-5 talent and aside from a back-door elite 8 as a 12 seed, disappointed and left in ignominy. Amaker's best days were 15 years ago at Seton Hall, though a mild resurgence is underway at Harvard. Capel, though not a prior assistant to my knowledge, couldn't hack it once Blake Griffin left. Pete Gaudet took a top-10 program and led them to 2 ACC wins. And now Collins is off to a 7-7 start at Northwestern, though he'll likely get all the time in the world to succeed given the patience they had with Carmody.

Amaker is finally at the perfect place for him... and he has been doing very well at Harvard. Dawkins will be just fine at Stanford -- the only non-Ivy school that requires athletic-scholarship guys to meet the same admissions standards as everyone else. This is Chris Collins' first year at Northwestern, the only BCS conference school that has never been to the NCAA's. Never in 75 years! Give him more than 14 games. Let him recruit his own kids and develop his own teams. All three of them are quality human beings and very good role models for their players. I don't get the animosity here. (And, yes, I know all three of them, and also Mike Brey).

Stanford, Northwestern and Notre Dame have among the highest academic standards of any non-Ivy school in the country... and Harvard, of course, is Harvard. These guys are not exactly working at Kentucky

What's the point? Are we comparing to JB's tree? If so, aren't they about the same?

I think St. Tristian fueled most of the Amaker animosity around here.

Does it really matter, I guess if we're looking for ways for Mike K to look even somewhat not like one if the best coaches whoever lived this could be it. I guess we could also say the Just for Men is getting a little old, we know he has some greys in there.

The Boeheim coaching tree isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

Rick Pitino.

'Nuff said.

But if that's not enough, Boeheim begat Pitino who begat Billy Donovan. So there's 4 NC's, 5 if you count JB.

I thought EMU looked a lot better than the previous games. I wish the best for Coach Murphy.
