Class of 2025 C Paul Mbiya (Congo) to NC State

Just curious. Has Kline already scrutinized this kid's game or does he step in if the interest becomes mutual down the line. 3 years of basketball makes it that much harder to project his fit down the line.

If the kid says he's in today, would we pull the trigger?? The college scenario is much different than the NBA.

Love these types. No bad habits from youth.

Would make for a decent backup center at first glance.

Motor looks good based on 39 seconds of tape. Need more high energy bigs.
Yeah, it's hard to judge off of a tape like this. But, I love guys like this that haven't been tainted by the NBA and AAU bullshit. They are coached to dunk everything, rebound everything and give 100% effort on defense. If they started playing soccer, they start out with superior footwork and they are extremely coachable.

Not sure I’ve seen a regulation ball look smaller in someone’s hands.
The numbers vary by site, but if 6'11" and 260lbs is true with a 7'4" wingspan. This kid a real opportunity to get someone that comes in as a backup and ends up in the NBA. End of freshman year, he could be better than the starter, depending on who we get to start. Hopefully we can entice him to come to SU

I think we're gonna have scholarships available. Euros may come cheaper except this may be a bidding war I suspect.
It could certainly get there. Hopefully, we can win him over before it gets to that.

Hard pass. This compilation is more impressive and we see what we’ve got.

Red’s future pretty much depends on his ability to land a decent starting center for next season, along with a few other key players. But C and PG are clearly his top priorities.
PG 1A
C 1B

Center is a tricky position. You need one, but the good ones are expensive and don’t guarantee success. I would rather SU spend their money on guards and wings who are two way players. Guards should be the easiest to find. If Kline wants to earn his money he needs to find someone who can make plays. Leave the high price centers like Dickinson and Ballo to the Blue Bloods. Their value doesn’t equal the dollar amount invested.
Point being this kid, Naheem, Petar and Donnie can handle the center spot if you get a top tier point and wing.
