D'Antoni and Amare can go today and I would be excited.

Amare has been a disaster this year. He doesnt fit in on this team, the lane is clogged with him and Chandler, and his offense has been torture to watch...no jumpshot, just barrels into the lane and turns the ball over. The team overall is alot better defensively, except when Amare is in and proves the theory that you're only as strong as your weakest link.

D'Antoni aka Pringles is just a joke and if this team doesnt get it together soon should get the boot.

I think as much as Amare wanted to play PF, he's better as a Center.

Maybe, but a lot of it is he just isn't playign the right role for the team right now. You can't just throw him the ball and expect a bucket. You need to get him involved in the offense, get him the ball moving towards the basket, etc.

The funniest thing is the defense has been stronger than the offense. The offense is a joke right now.

Im shocked at how bad their offense is. Its like watching a Big Ten basketball offense. Everything looks so difficult. Melo is hurt, Amare is a mess, TC doesnt bring much offense and nobody can hit a wide open jumpshot. Now everyone is hesitating which makes it even worse.

Our defense isnt that bad, although Amare's is still as bad as ever. Warrick owned him a couple times.

My Man is becoming a very inefficient scorer. I guess my dreams of him being better than Lebron James are going down the tubes. Lebron is averaging 30/8/8 and shooting a horrible 57% from the field.

They need a PG in a bad, bad way. D'Antoni's system requires a really good PG. Hopefully Baron Davis can come back healthy and ready to make a difference.

And he switches on everything. Just the switching our entire team does in general in ridiculous. Is that seriously our defensive concept...to have Tyson Chandler guarding Steve Nash and Amare running around guarding noone?

Melo is hurt so im gonna give him a pass right now, as are alot of Knick fans I have talked to. Basically, noone on our team seems capable of doing anything on offense. Unless Melo hits Chandler for an alley oop, chances are someone will miss an open shot or spaz out. Melo is pressing and its getting annoying, especially because hes hurt and ineffective but I dont even see the light at the end of the tunnel with this offense. I guess its with Baron but man would i love to see a blockbuster Amare/Fields/Chandler trade to Orlando for Howard/Turkoglu/Duhon....or just Amare to anyone for a PF who can spread the floor and play defense.

actually...statistically and productivity wise Melo is having one of his best seasons. Amare is having one of his worst and has been on a downhill slide for awhile now.

I think what we are seeing, is proof that Melo isn't that guy who is going to make other players better and get other guys to rise. How does Denver get so much better defensively when he leaves? Everyone there is happy all the sudden.

Melo is a bit of an enigma. Great scorer, but I'm not sure he's very good at anything else.

I definitely think there is something to this. Denver got better after he left, and the Knicks I believe are worse. He's not the only reason for this, of course. And his assist % has skyrocketed this year, so he is looking more for teammates.

But generally, when teams trade one of the 5 or 10 best players in the league, they don't get better, and the team the superstar is going to usually doesn't get worse/not improve.

Not only that but D'Antoni's offense has always been crisp passing, lots of motion/ball movement, etc. Carmelo and Amare bog it down.

Thing is, Nuggets like the Hawks have tons of depth. Thats fine and dandy but they will NEVER win a championship. You need stars and for as bad as the Knicks have looked we are way closer to winning a Championship than the Nuggets.
