Parish and Goodman are fair to Syracuse putting us 7th.

I like that San Diego State is 9th so we could see a battle of top 10 teams on the Midway. Hopefully the POTUS will be in a post campaign mode and will want to make an appearance again. No doubt VPOTUS will be on board the ship. I don't like they basically say they believe Noel will go to Kentucky, but they are probably betting on the favorite in the race.

Kentucky is really gonna lose everyone. Make you think that they basically have to go out and clean up on the remainder of this class to even have a team next year. Scary proposition for us in the NN department.

No BE teams other than Ville and SU, wow. When was the last time the BE had only 2 ranked teams? Ridiculous to rank UK #1 at this point. #7 seems reasonable (even generous) for SU given the player loses.

UNC is high at 10 IMO. Other than McAdoo, I wasn't impressed with their bench at all.

These are all still meaningless untill recruiting is finished and everyone who is leaving is officially leaving. Very hard to make an accurate list right now IMO.

The great news as an SU fan is that we really have a lot coming back compared to some of the other heavy weights. Plus our two new guards in the roation are a year in the system and highly rated recruits themselves. That is a huge difference compared to having freshman. We also have 4 experianced front court players returning.

They are meaningless. But then again being ranked #1 at the start of the season after everything is known is still pretty meaningless as well.

Kansas has 7 NOTABLE newcomers? That's impressive assuming they're all really notable.

Journalists put them out for fun and hardly anyone ever goes back and checks them on these. For fun, I went back and looked at CBS's poll from April 2011. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...ly-preseason-top-25-and-one-uk-no-1-as-of-now
You can see that they were pretty good with the top few teams. They absolutely nailed the rankings of Pitt & UConn. Two things to remember - A.) They don't know for certain which underclassman will come back to school (and remain eligible all year) and B.) Team chemistry is always the trickiest factor when making any kind of prediction of sports teams (especially this far in advance).
