My projections going into Champ week:

1. Oregon 12-0 B1G CG vs tOSU
2. Ohio State 11-1 B1G CG vs Oregon
3. Bama (+7) 10-2
4. UGA (+8) 10-2
5. Texas (-2) 10-2
6. Ole Miss (+5) 10-2
7. Notre Dame (+1) 11-1
8. Indiana (-3) 11-1
9. Tennessee (-2) 10-2
10. A&M (+5) 10-2 SEC CG vs ???
11. Boise (+2) 11-1 MWC CG vs UNLV
12. Penn State (-8) 10-2
13. BYU (-7) 11-1 B12 CG vs Colorado
14. SMU 11-1 ACC CG vs Clemson

I see a 6 way tie at 6-2 for 2nd in the SEC. No clue who wins that tie breaker. A&M could make the SEC CG, lose, and get left out of the playoff. The B1G winner will be the #1 seed. The SEC #2. I think the SEC gets 5 bids, the B1G only 3.

I think both the ACC and B12 are in danger of not getting a bye. Boise if they win will be a 3 IMO. Outside chance for BYU winning and staying ahead of SMU, who they beat, if SMU wins the ACC.

UNLV can still make the playoff if they win the MWC. However if they do win, it is possible that the AAC CG winner gets in instead. I think that will be Tulane vs Army. It is also possible that Army is the AAC winner and then loses to Navy, which causes Army to miss the playoffs. Navy would forever be able to hold that over Army.

So I think the playoff will be...

8. SEC #4 vs 9. Notre Dame
7. SEC #3 vs 10. Indiana
6. SEC #2 vs 11. SEC #5
5. Oregon vs 12. Tulane

1. Ohio State vs 8. SEC #4
2. SEC Champ vs 7. SEC #3 (hard to pick without knowing who)
3. Colorado vs 6. SEC #2
4. Clemson vs 5. Oregon

5. Oregon vs 8. SEC #4
6. SEC #2 vs SEC

5. Oregon vs SEC

I assume you have Penn State losing to Minnesota, since Maryland and Purdue both stink. That would be hilarious, shades of '99 - I would definitely tune in to Two Pros and a Cup of Joe the Monday after that loss to listen to LaVar Arrington lose his mind that Minny did it to Penn State again.

Well that stinks. Kinda minimizes that game. If you are Army do you even go all out to beat Navy knowing that you have a playoff game a week later?

If you are UNLV you are upset that Army only had 12 games to your 13. Then in Army's 13th if they were to lose it is even more bitter.

It would be the ultimate Cinderella to have Army in the playoff, but it wouldn't be fair for the committee to put them in.

Army still has to beat Notre Dame to be in the conversation

No they don't. If they play ND decent and win the AAC, they could end up the 5th best conference champ. Heck they might even end up ahead of the ACC Champ:

Army close loss to ND. Army and Tulane win out. Army beats Tulane easily. Clemson loses big to South Carolina. Comes back the next week and wins a close one over SMU.

I’m not going to argue about it but if Army loses a game they are toast. Just look at the rankings now and look at Army’s schedule and you will see nobody is going to respect them enough to put them in the playoff.Undefeated or bust for the Cadets.

Agree. And while Army is a great story, I don't think they'll be able to keep it close with ND. I also think Tulane is better than them. But we'll see soon enough if I'm wrong yet again.

I know they have two losses, but I still think Bama has the best resume in the country in terms of victories (Georgia, Missouri, @ LSU, @ Wisconsin). All of them except Georgia were blow-outs. I don't see how anyone can rationally put Penn State, Miami, ND or even undefeated Indiana ahead of Bama right now.

The SEC really could end up being crazy. Trying to get as many teams at 6-2:

UGA at home beats Tennessee, who wins at Vandy.
Ole Miss wins at Florida and home vs Miss State.
Bama wins at Oklahoma and home vs Auburn.
LSU wins at Florida and home vs Vandy and Oklahoma (might be a bit of a stretch)
Mizzou wins at South Carolina, at Miss State, and home vs Arkansas (this one is a huge stretch).
A&M either loses at Auburn and beats Texas at home, or they beat Auburn and lose to Texas
Texas either loses at Arkansas or home to Kentucky and beats A&M, or beats Arkansas and Kentucky and loses to A&M

That would give you 8 teams tied at 6-2. Think of all the SEC regular season champ banners.

They got lucky vs N Texas with like 3 turnovers in the endzone. I expect ND to spank them, but I'm def rooting for Army

With the service academies the only hope they have of beating ND is getting an early lead and then sitting on it and controlling the clock. If they go down 14-0 in the first quarter it’s completely over.

Somebody has Miami losing to Cuse and I’m here for it!!

I would love to see Alabama and Ole Miss going up north for an outdoor game in December.

Any voter who has 1-loss Penn State ahead of 2-loss Georgia this week is completely insane to me. Georgia has wins over Clemson, Texas and Tennessee. Penn State's best win is Washington.
