I hope Brien winds up with the job. This was a ridiculous achievement to build this program -- with no facilities -- from such a low point. Props to Gross for doing his research and finding the right guy; now I hope the current administration puts the same level of thought into finding Chris's replacement.

Yes, THIS!! He built up a remarkable program.
Especially given Syracuse isn't exactly a haven for distance running about 8 months a year.
This is true but I think he took the negative and made it a positive. Sometimes having perfect conditions gives you no excuse to take the foot of the gas...but sometimes that needs to be done for mental and physical reasons. I think the snowy winter helps with that. What he did at SU is almost a miracle.
