CIT 32 Teams Announced

They really need to do away with crap like this.

Why? For some of those teams making the CIT is a goal or an accomplishment and it means something.

Just like the lower tier bowls. These things are not meant to appease the masses - but just because it does not appeal to you or too many, doesn't mean it should be eliminated.

How much money is wasted on this?

If the owners of the tourney were losing money continously or not enough schools accepted to make it work, they would drop it. Schools are not forced to accept an invite. Obviously the schools see a benefit from this, so why should it bother us. We are not the fanbase they are trying to attract.

Should we drop all non-profit generating sports as well?

You realize schools pay $60k to play in this tourney? Nothing more than a glorified AAU tourney

In fact, Villanova announced last week that they would not participate if invited, offered or whatever they call it when you have to pay to play.

And Villanova is not the only one.

Its up to schools to assess if the rewards to players and fans, benefits in building the program, and partially offetting ticket revenue makes this a reasonable opportunity to pursue.

What's next - are we argoing to ban schools like Idaho from building a training facility because it costs money and they are irrelevant.
