College Hoops Opening Week Thread

Matty Moyer currently on with GW vs Navy. Navy has a lot of shooters.

VTech pulling away from Radford.

Early action is minimal Ohio St and UK playing a bit later.

Xavier up 50 vs Oakland with 5min left still have their starters in and firing 3s. Could see a lot of this with no preseason

It doesn't look like they run any plays for him. He's mostly a rebounder and plays the center position in their zone.
He should always have been a defensive specialist. He gives off the same kind of energy as Rodman.

God I missed betting Virginia unders

Lol i saw 120 and thought "Virginia might score 70, sure, but is Towson putting 50 up? No"

edit: Whoops!

Yep I agree. Finished with 10 rebounds and 2 points. Looks like most of his points will probably come of rebounds.

Hoyas vs UMBC just started. It's a few minutes in but Hoyas look like a shell of last year's team without McClung.

Kid shot like 29% at Vandy last year. Don’t think OCC or Morrisville would even run plays for him. He’s gotta be a garbage man/hustle guy.

Agree and there is a place for that. Just have to be really good on the boards and getting loose balls. We'll see if he can do it I guess.

yeah - think he would’ve done fine at it here. He shot like 50% from the floor when he played here. And he had that UConn game where he shined. He hurt us at times with his lack of offense, but I think that stood out more because those teams in general struggled to score.

Think he would’ve had a fine career here as a hustle guy/role player, and would’ve looked better playing with better shooters and scorers like last year.

Boeheim gets criticized for his leash here, but generally the right guys take the shots. Can’t remember a guy getting major minutes and shooting 29% - a percentage that low - in decent minutes- suggests he’s taking shots he’s not capable of making.
