Shafer had too many misses. He got us some great players that helped get this team over the hump with Dino's staff, but he missed on so many guys and depth/experience was destroyed.
I was looking at the 2014 class recently. 25 kids committed/signed. 15 (6 of the top 10 commits) didn't contribute. Didn't make it to campus, kicked off the team, transfer, etc.
The other 10 guys did pretty well though. Cole Murphy, Chris Slayton, Johnathan Thomas, Steve Ishmael, Zaire Franklin, Paris Bennett, Jamal Custis, Erv Philips, Aaron Roberts and Cordy.
If you look at each one of Shafers classes, this is the common theme. His staff took way too many risky kids
