I'd love to see Costas interview Paterno.

The Penn State student "journalists" should do a better job of trying to emulate guys like Costas.

Costas was brilliant.

The fact that Sandusky did the interview...and that his lawyer got a 17-year old pregnant when he was 49, is like a train wreck after a volcanic eruption during a hurricane. Sandusky and team can not be any more (insert vulgarities) stupid.

I'm beginning to think the entire town of State College is inbred. This is like the Twilight Zone. Hollywood couldn't write this stuff on their best days. How is he still practicing law? Isn't getting a 17-year old pregnant a rape charge? What?

At least in NY, 17 is the age of consent. Can't buy liquor or smokes for her, but you can you can grease up and have a rodeo. Pathetic, but legal.

I've been thinking the same thing. Naturally as an SU fan, I have a lifelong "hatred"...as in "sports hatred, not true hatred"...of PSU. I'd have loved for them to go down the tubes via a massive recruiting scandal or whatever. But this is just insane.

I almost feel sorry for their players. This isn't what they bought into after all, and they're just kids.

Everyone else though...I have come to loathe not just the coaches and administration, but so many of their fans and everyone else around the program are coated with slime. And I don't mean slightly slimy; we're talking about truckloads of slime. Truckloads like those double or triple load semis you see on the highway sometimes. That kind of slime.

The fact that so much of their fan base is in denial makes it all the sweeter everytime some new, horribly awful revelation comes to light.

I'm imagining what this all must be like for long-time PSU fans. Joe Paterno really came into his own in the 1970s, which is when Tom Landry came into his own with the Dallas Cowboys. I'm trying to imagine what I would feel like if Landry were still coaching now, and I discovered he was making life easy for child molesters. Landry is a sports hero of mine, and he retired 23 years ago. My world would be upside down if he were still coaching and I suddenly had to renounce a personal hero on nine days notice. So, I'm trying to cut the rank-and-file PSU fans some slack.

I've learned as I have aged and got older not to idolize anyone and put them on a pedestal except for god. Humans are fallible and the higher people place them the more they become desensitized from reality.

I always though 17 was the age of consent in NY, but you can't be anymore than 5 years older. This guy has long since passed that threshold.
