This is more stupid and worse than the JB doghouse situation good players would find themselves in. We don't need a superstar at guard just a good athlete and defender. Which is what Cuffe is.

Cuffe was by far the most impressive guy on the court this year for the few hours I watched. Especially on Defense, initiating the offense, leading fast breaks and breaking down his guy & dunking with authority.
There must be something deeper going on here.

I will have to take you at your word on all that. And if true, I’m not sure I understand the counter argument from some here: ‘he may be good in practice but it doesn’t translate to the game.’ But, unless he gets into a game, he can’t demonstrate that he’s not good enough for the game.

We don't need a savior at PG

Just the position to not kill us. Carlos was never supposed to be a savior. Cuffe didn't play much last year because they said he was still getting over his injury. Well he's recovered.

SF- 4 ok options. Bell, Moore, Petar and Taylor a guy with ACC experience.
PF/C - very good. 3 excellent rebounders. Good passing D and scoring. Naheem as emergency.

Rest of the team is fine the coach sucks and our starting PG is killing us there's an easy and obvious fix IMO. Reds coaching almost had us lose each of the first 3 against awful teams and we were never in a position to pull out the last two even if we played well.

Ok probably true. If Cuffe is even just slightly better than Carlos then why absolutely no playing time?
Why wouldnt the slightly better player play slightly more?
At least give him 4 minutes every once in a while and see what happens.

Agree on the JB doghouse thing. Also players rewarded for practicing well even when it hurt us during games. Are we seeing 2.0?

He can make a few shots. But he is streaky and is not someone you can give the ball to to go get a bucket. He can be a nice lift off the bench or provide some energy for short stretches, but his shot selection is going to hurt in the long run if he is a top option.

Yes, this is the only positive I've taken from the last couple games. He's actually getting some minutes. I'm not thrilled with where they are coming from, but I'll take what I can get.

It doesn’t matter much. Both are rotational guys from the 7-9 spot. Hopefully starling comes back and his wrist healing turned him into 1987 GOAT air Jordan.

Really confused. Some on this board wanted to run Judah out of town in favor of a pass first point guard. Over his last 5 games, including a terrible performance against Maryland, Carlos is averaging over 7 assists and less than 2 TOs per game. And if this team could shoot the ball and convert a few more passes he would easily have an additional 2-3 apg.

Wish he were more of a threat to score (although in this same 5 he is just under 10 ppg) but I don’t consider that level of performance to be “awful” or “not a P5 PG.
His jersey will never hang from the rafters but Carlos is far from the worst problem this team has.
