What a fascinating class - no real super stars but plenty of real solid players who helped form the back-bone of the 2013 Final Four team. Galasso, Ward, Harris, Loy and Lamolinara were important contributors. In addition, some big time "What-ifs" as well with Cathers, Bratek Powderly and Burnham. For a long time, Cathers especially, was a big topic of discussion.

In addition to Cathers, Bratek and Burnham, Tousaw (Marquette) and Morgan (Maryland), and I think Buhr left the program. I know Galasso and Lamolinara transferred in but still shocking to see so many recruits (11 not counting those who transferred in) listed in the Top 100. Currently SU has four in the 2020 class.

Cathers could have been a star here what a waste. Desko bent over backwards for him to and he was one of the main reasons we backed off of the Thompsons.
Galasso was never fully healthy until the second half of his Sr season when he looked like the best player on the field. Had he not gotten hurt a second time when he first transferred to SU we probably have another title, again another "what could have been".

Jeremy I followed Cathers for a couple year prior to him committing to Cuse and I agree he would've been a star. To your point I know Desko made all sorts of concessions to get him to campus and he was supposed get to campus but I've never really heard the full story of why he didn't come. I know his grades were a bit of a concern and then he was supposed to do a year @ OCC to help get the grades up but not sure what happened there. Any background you can share as to why he never made it to campus, I was super excited when we got him and very disappointed when he never made it here. Thanks!
