I didn't vote b/c my answer is "yes." I know that's a cop out but I really don't care which. I know BK has struggled at times as has Xmas, but I can't help but think we'd be solid in the front court with Keita/Xmas/DC at the 4/5 and Fair/Southerland at the the 3/4. Waiters would seem more expendable in some ways since Triche is solid, MCW has star potential and Cooney should be able to step in and log some effective minutes. But I don't see anyone who brings Waiters' explosiveness to the table and he is the one guy that can keep opposing coaches up at night (at least our one offensive player). I also think his defense is very tough in the zone.

Honestly, either guy coming back would be excellent and either guy leaving would create a tough void to fill.

How's that for a cop out?

Melo by far... We have enough guards... His shotblocking is irreplaceable with our current roster

Absolutely right. Big 7' ers don't come around very often.

Melo. Not because Dion is less than Melo but due to what we have in the stable.

if i had to pick one, I would pick Melo. Mainly because of my dream front court- Fab. DC2,RAK , with Baye of bench.
And i want to see what MCW can do

Melo every day of the week. Not a knock on Dion but there is an old saying that goes along with the alphi Phi thread. There is a good looking girl on every street cornor in America, but I shot blocking big man is hard to find.

Melo by far. He will be better than anything we have inside next year and at guard, I am one of those that thinks the backcourt of Triche/MCW/Cooney will be better than this years.

Neither is ready at all for the NBA... tremendous potential I see with Dion and Fab, but not now (or next year). Melo, well, he will be drafted at some point but I see him as another Orange that will lose the "juice" quickly in the BIG LEAGUE. I also don't see Dion ready yet based on what we've seen lately. Remember how KJ was when he was able to come off the bench and not be expected to be THE guy. I actually believe Dion is more ready than KJ, which isn't saying much - and this is coming from an Orangeman fan who bleeds orange. I don't see at all how KJ could be an NBA guy, other than helping keep the seat on the bench warm. Dion, with more time in college, could be something much different. However, he needs to get back to his UNSELFISH play. When he plays like that, he is very good; the go to guy, he is not now, and when he thinks he is, I think more and more how unready he is for the next level. I don't see any guy on our team who is ready for the NBA... potential yes, but the ability to last and actually contribute, no.

Melo but I think only Dion will return.

With the loss of KJO, Dions driving game will be huge.
MCW is tall and Triche is flashy. Add in Cooney and we have a killer backcourt but without a true Forward who penetrates off the dribble(maybe Rak from the high post). We will need even more dribble penetration. We will have Fair, Rak, and maybe Grant to kill it from the high post. We will have our more high post offense since 02-03. Curious if we will find a low post guy to help it.

The NBA Scouts are going to look into that fact of how much better our team is with Melo though. That will carry some weight.
Unlike Thabeet and some of the other guys Melo isn't a project physcially at all. He has the strength size and speed. When he elevates to dunk he is so noticable on the floor. Point being yes hes raw efficiently on offesne right now so Scouts would be taking a risk but no he isn't raw physically in any shape or form. Thats just the way it is.

I don't think Dions outside shot is NBA range enough right now for him to make the jump.
Yes hes youthfull in situations where there is no post threat help but Scouts may overlook that some based on what he has done with Melo. He has been a killer all year with his change of directions and shoots offbalence as good as any guard in the country (not to many do that well).

We have enough guards. I would rather have the inside shot blocking presence of a 7 footer.

Coleman might be the answer you are looking for.

I don't know how you can call two guards who haven't even proved themselves yet better than Waiters and Scoop.

Easy, it's my opinion. I think Triche will be even better, I think MCW will be as good as if not better next year than Scoop this year and I think Cooney is the dead eye 3 pt guy we need. He's not Dion but his skill set will fit better.

I agree, those 3 should compliment each other real well

Not trying to hate or anything, but those are all things you are assuming. We don't know anything about Cooney yet and MCW has barely even played. To say you would pick those guys over what we have now is a bold statement.

????? One of them we haven't even seen play! The other has barely played...

Ones a combo guard, one is a pure pg great passer and the other is a pure shooter...all have different strengths that mesh...i doubt im the only one who thinks this

Yes I am assuming, that's why it is my opinion.

How can you honestly know a player's strengths and weaknesses when you haven't seen them play. Please answer me that...
