He stays forever. He is Dabo’s greatest investment. Clemson’s looking at a continued golden age
Obviously everyone is different, but I feel like some guys just want to coach football (which is what being a high-paid coordinator allows you to do), but don't want to essentially have to be a politician also which being the head coach at a major football program requires.
Everyone always speculates that top coordinators, like Venables, will be head coaches. There are a lot of top coordinators who are perfectly happy being coordinators. They see each day how HCs have to operate, and many just don't want to do that. IDK if Venables wants to be a HC or not, but the HC money he's being paid is a great incentive to stay at Clemson. To me, he seems like the exact guy that is perfect as a corrdinator that would flame out as a head coach. I just don't see his sideline demeanor working as the head guy. He is right where he belongs.

I dunno, but if I was a maryland fan, I'd be shuttering after that Locklsey play calling LN...
Unless Bama comes calling... although now I’m not so sure he makes that jump anymore. He’s got a great gig at Clemson.Dabo is under 50. That’s nuts. Is he the next Paterno-esque Coach? Like retires from Clemson at 70-80 years old?
He’s not leaving. Things would need to start going south/weird a la Jimbo Fisher. I just don’t see that happening.Unless Bama comes calling... although now I’m not so sure he makes that jump anymore. He’s got a great gig at Clemson.
when he ran 4 times inside the 5 in a tight formation, I said right then and there to my wife, bring on Maryland
