Don’t know if anyone saw this:

SU is #1 in team defense. Caveats be damned, who ever thought we’d see this at any point in any season.
And its not an anomaly. They definitely passed the eye test in the first two games. They were forcing turnovers and bad shots and turning live ball turnovers into fast breaks.

This team looked really good, shooting 3s terribly and winning on defense is perfectly viable. If we get some guys back to career 3 point shooting norms, whew! Look out, Vegas.

Maybe we will crack 100 a couple times ;)

Ya'll got jokes. :)

We might score 100 versus Kansas. I can't imagine a scenario where we get that against Houston, without 4-5 overtimes, at least.

I know we haven't really come close yet, but we're averaging 84 while shooting .286 from three, and .595 from the foul lines. We're going to shoot 50% from 3 and 90% from the line once or twice before conference play and crack 100.

I'm willing to accept my prediction of 6 times is starting to look like a prediction worthy of mockery.

EDIT: Though, in conference we do play BC, VPI just gave up 101 to Providence and SMU gave up 91 to Murray State on Tuesday. We might be able to get the century against a couple conference opponents...

Hey, self awareness is a great trait to have.

Let’s see if we can crack 65 against Houston! If we kept that one in single digits, I’d say that’s pretty dang good given that team is the standard for physicality and endurance. Not to mention winning.

Donna had a headline on an article that said something like Cuse cruises to two easy victories. I totally disagree.

Those guys have worked hard to get those wins. The defense looked really good doubling up and competing on every defensive possession. Kudos to them and the staff. Yes, it's just two games, but giving up only 90 points in two games is really good.

Syracuse.com folks are 100% covering their butts still. They saw us slack same as us during Exhibition.

I'll say this though, the team is much more fun to watch and for the NIL / Portal era they are already building momentum and seem to like each other. The dome will be rocking because these guys are actually likeable and at least for now look the part, which is the opposite of the last few years.

I've also found them to be surprising humble, I do not see the same cockiness and showboating and crying to refs that plagued the last many teams.

That's not because of the competition, that's because something changed in the locker room and the culture from last year. I have to give Autry and Kline credit for cleaning house and only bringing in guys that fit.

Example, I watched a UNC kid talk stuff to the Radford bench last night after making a 3 when it was a 5 point game on their own court late in the 1st half. I just got dbag chills from back when Bell and Qadir and Judah and the rest were pulling that crap and what did they ever accomplish. UNC won by 15 and the spread was 20.

I can't wait to be the tougher team for once and hope we are. We've been so soft for so many years.

Did see KA bitcing to the refs a bit on one play. Hopefully that’s it for the year

Well for a kid that is going to make more money on his brand this year than the refs and coaches will make their entire career that's not so bad.

I saw him talking with a ref and putting his arm around his shoulder. Seemed amiable. You probably saw something else that I didn’t notice.

He got fouled on a shot that he made, and was “chirping” for lack of a better term. Was not Judah like, at all. Just one thing, and I could have misjudged it, from my couch

One interesting result from yesterday (and yes, acknowledged caveat that depaul is probably terrible)- Buffalo clobbered DePaul at DePaul...

Yeah they haven’t set the world on fire but are 3-0 to start the year.

Drexel will tell us a lot more. They have ample shooters and some physical guys who will compete hard around the rim. They aren’t lights out from 3 but can certainly light it up if given the chance.
Agreed. Drexel seemed to just want to air up. Colgate I think after getting blown out the 1st half by 19.

They took more 3 pointers than 2 point shots last night.
