Doyel- boeheim best at doing job he shouldnt have

Back to hating Doyle...he is a freaking tool that isn't worth the bandwidth wasted on carrying his empty thoughts across the Internet.

He's an attention whore.

Why does CBS Sports seem to hire every sports journalist that seems like they should be on Jersey Shore not behind a microphone?

that would be cbs...

the guy thought jb should be fired... boeheim made some bad comments.

oh well. other than that - it was very complimentary to boeheim, his coaching, and the team.

Doyel is what he is - a shock writer. He cant back off of what he said in Nov. dont let this article upset you - for the most part is very good to cuse.

"But there's the improbability that Syracuse, after experiencing the worst November in school history, is off to the best 20-game start in school history. It can't be happening, not after the Bernie Fine story broke in November. But here we are. Here Syracuse is, No. 1 in the country, undefeated.
Hard to believe. Awkward to acknowledge.
Impossible to ignore.
Boeheim still has his job ... and I'm not sure he has ever done it better. "

Is there anything incorrect about these last few paragraphs?

No, but it's the headline that bothers me. Especially coming from a guy who last week defended Rothlisberger by essentially calling his accusers liars.

Yeah, i understand your point.

Think you just have to take him for what he is worth... a shock writer. He is the cowherd/gottleib of writing.

The video that accompanied the article was Tim Brando & Steve Lappas gushing about Syracuse.

Brando called SU's win a very authoritative one against a desperate Pitt team. He said the Orange looked awfully good. Lappas said they are unbelievable, etc.

Isn't anyone else getting it?

That Pitt game was easily the worst I've seen this team play 40 minutes all year. They bash us when we are unbeatable, praise us when we play awful. I give up.

This is the key phrase:

The head of the Syracuse basketball program, which has rocked by a scandal whose severity -- and legitimacy -- we're still trying to grasp.

So, Doyel isn't even sure that the claims by the Doubtable Duo are legitimate . . . but he still thinks JB should be fired.

People like Gregg Doyel is why Miller's The Crucible is a timeless piece of art.

At least he is giving Jim credit for the job he has done on the court

Everyone is so confused. Today, Dana O'Niell called us the best team in the country (finally!) and had this to say about UNC:

"I'm not sure they're too nice so much as they just don't have that go to guy. They've got a lot of great players but who's the one that gets them going?"

Why is this everybody's favorite thing to say?

Doyel & the "torches-&-pitchforks" brigades wanted a warm & fuzzy JB to address the initial allegations. What they got was the straight, unadulterated truth... as JB saw it.
Because he wasn't PC enough, or cautious enough, or "disloyal to a 50-year friendship" enough, then they wanted him to pay, somehow & some way.

I still believe JB's initial response "saved" this situation from devolving into a media-inspired witch-hunt, a la Penn State. It changed the entire tenor of the debate, IMO, & put the focus where it belonged- on due process, not media-driven hysteria.
