Interesting that statement from Scheyer that Duke players that transferred out were tampered with. Some of them went to other ACC teams so is this shots fired at Clemson, Virginia Tech and Virginia. Now these players were not even role players at Duke.
Tampering
Is this a glass house situation with the transfer of Brown?

Of course tampering happens. Just be better at it. And stop complaining.

I would like to believe he’s saying this because he has specific intel about those specific instances, and isn’t just speaking about vague hypotheticals or suspicions. And then he would know that Brown was not a tampering matter.

The issue is that someone is going to have to figure out what “tampering” even means. People talk to each other. People have connections and can communicate very easily. In fact, it’s actually financially irresponsible for a player to Not send out ‘feelers’ to ascertain interest and assess their values.

He didnt say who tampered. Some school other than the one where the player ended up may be the culprit.

I assume Brown saw what lesser players were getting paid and decided he didn't want to stick around for some T-shirt money.

On this flip side it's irresponsible for programs in the running for a dude that went elsewhere to not "check in" from time to time.

Duke will have a tough defense with both Maluach and Flagg. The team as a whole may be as strong defensively as on the offense.

And Maliq, who made All ACC defense.

Scheyer is going to have a lot of pressure next year.
11th year in a row Duke offseason national champion.
Is it too early to predict The Ugliest of NCAA finals? Duke beats UConn.
We can say all we want about Hurley, but he's on a very short list of winning back to back championships. Scheyer, on the other hand, hasn't and is coming off a big loss to NC State in the Elite Eight. Will be under huge pressure with the talent he has.

Can't wait for the Duke at Cuse game. Hopefully its on a Saturday night with 35,000 screaming fans.

Maliq, unfortunately, will probably get a chilly reception. But it won't compare to the icy reception that Cooper Flagg will get. The South Sudan kid should get a polite reception. Even though South Sudan lost, those kids earned a nice spot in basketball lore.

I don’t think Scheyer has a clue. He just has the biggest salary cap in the game with Cal out of UK. Zero clue how to put a team together. A 12 year old can get the talent he has to 25 wins each year. Their frontcourt will be good, but the guards will hold them back.

Proctor will be good. It’s reasonable to think Caleb Foster can take a step forward. Sion James is a proven scorer. Then they have 2 4 star freshman and a 5 star who will be able to the 2 in Evans.

It won’t be the best court in the country but the potential is there

Coop’s younger bro is transferring to a HS in NC…
Offers from Maine, West VA, and GW.

Cooper Flagg Malik Brown the huge center? They should be incredible this year

I hope Maliq doesn't get booed. I'd rather during the pregame intros if the fans just turned their backs when his name is announced.
