some early lines that make room for discussion

rutgers going to Wash and being +24
FSU - 6 at home vs Miss , big ACC game
ND -4 vs texas. big changes after getting drilled by UND last year

UNC +3 vs Georgia. another big ACC game against SEC

clem - 7 vs Auburn

bowling green + 27 vs OSU

GT -3 vs BC on coach on the hot seat, one coming off an awful offensive season with big expectations

wake -18 vs tulane after scoring more than 18 once last year

I would be totally fine with just bypassing August and getting right to fall/football. I've had all the heat and humidity I can take.

I like Texas to beat ND, Georgia to stomp UNC and Clemson/FSU to win close games.

Rutgers FSU Texas Georgia Auburn Bowling Green GaTech and Tulane cover

Rutgers +24, if we were were talking basketball, we would have to make it +42; and I would never bet on Rutgers.

I think ACC is gonna do well that first weekend. Surprised GT is only favored that much. BC will be breaking in another Sr. grad transfer QB. No receiving threats and they lost their DC. GT has a lot of returners

I don't understand the constant BC love, same can be said for Wake and NCState

Addazzio is a pretty good used car salesman. I think people feel bad for Clawson.

How is UNC +3 vs Georgia?

Georgia has to be the most underachieving team of my lifetime.

UNC was quietly very good last year. Their offense has been rising and they grabbed a good DC finally. They were the clear #3 ACC team last season (blowout to Baylor not withstanding).

Smart is not as good a coach as Richt, IMO.

UNC was real good last year and Im not sure they lost much, plus picked up a DC.

Kirby Smart? IDk

They were certainly a good team last year, but they were also the product of a very weak schedule. They only played one ranked team the entire regular season, and that was #23 Pitt. Although they did hold their own against Clemson and Baylor in the postseason very well.

You think Auburn beats Clemson?

At Clemson or on a neutral field, no. But at Auburn at night, I think it will be a competitive game with Clemson winning a close one late.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not buying into the cake walk that some of my fellow fans are thinking. It's tough to win on the road regardless of who you play.

He certainly thinks Auburn will at least cover the spread...
I definitely think it's going to be close. Night game on the Plains is challenging.

UNC-UGA is at the Georgia Dome. So it is a de facto home game for UGA.
UGA has more talent but UNC could win.
That is a huge game opening week for the ACC.
Clemson and FSU have to win.

Totally agree, hope fsu buries ole miss and that jerk freeze.

Clemson takes them to the woodshed regardless of where they play.
We should but it being on the road gives me reason to pause.

Big questions at QB for UGA. Do they stick with the UVA transfer who wasn't that impressive last year, or go with the hyped true freshman?
