Ennis' 3pt Shot

Once again, love Ennis and wouldn't trade him for many, if any, but he doesn't appear to have confidence in his 3pt shot. He's shooting almost 39%, but he only has 10 makes. And 2 of them that I can remember off the top of my head were a bank and a really weird bounce at msg. As of late he's been passing up more and more open looks that he was taking early on. Really feel he should take a few more of these. Worst case our big guys have a chance at a board.

Wouldn't want him to fall in love with the 3, but taking the open ones can only help Trevor get some space.

This might be the reason he stays for a second year at Syracuse.
This and his height but he can't do much about that...

I think its more about his uncomfortableness/unwillingness to shoot them unless absolutely necessary. I would like him to take his time and shoot them when they leave him open and we are struggling.

I think the reason Ennis doesn't shoot more 3's is because he believes he can manufacture a better shot attempt - for himself or for someone else. Maybe it does speak to the OP's point that he doesn't have huge confidence in it. But from the point guard position, it's a great approach. I worry more when Gbinije passes up wide open shots.
