Class of 2018 F Dariauna Lewis (AL) Transferring from Alabama A&M to Syracuse

Looks like this is her second time transferring.
Looks like a nice player. Assume she is a grad transfer and will be eligible immediately.

I think Coach FLJ wanted another center but had to settle for a PF instead. Tough finding players so late in the process.

This is the type of commitment to roster building in the portal era that must occur in all sports - MBB included.

Don’t tell me the coach and the personality DONT matter. This is living proof a single person can change the scope of a program based off their charisma, charm, spirit and zest for other people and their success. She hasn’t even coached a game yet and her accomplishments on the recruiting trail are amazing especially considering where this was before her arrival. LFG

Fair summed it up after her recruitment by the heavyweights. At the end of the day FLJ cared about her the person, TODAY, Tomorrow, and in the Future.
The whole person is important to our coach.

Lewis was an All-SWAC First Team performer during the 2020-21 season when she averaged 17.9 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. Lewis was also named SWAC Newcomer of the Year. She made the All-SWAC Second Team last year after averaging 14.6 points and 11.4 rebounds (14th in the nation) per game.

Last season, Syracuse lacked size and depth inside. Teams exploited that all year, but Syracuse has done a nice job at reshaping the roster to address that shortcoming. In addition to Lewis, Syracuse has added transfers Dyaisha Fair (guard, Buffalo), Olivia Owens (forward, Kentucky), Asia Strong (forward, Arizona State), Kyra Wood (forward, Temple), Cheyenne McEvans (guard, Buffalo) Saniia Wilson (forward, Buffalo) and Georgia Woolley (guard, Buffalo) as incoming players.

FLJ can recruit, can't she! Wow!

Look what she's done since she became Women's HC. She's done it again with Arianna - young woman can play - congrats to FLJ, ARIANA, and SU WOMENS BASKETBALL.
