While Fab does alot of good things on defense with his shot blocking ability and overall energy, if a player even thinks of taking a shot, Melo jumps ten feet in the air. ..often out of control. These players are often half a foot shorter than Melo yet he still leaves his feet. Pitt exploited this to no end tonight and that is what kept the game close. Not only did they get good shots, but the overzealous blocking attempts lead to a multitude of offensive rebounds and put backs...if not fouls shots.

Keita is just as bad, only subtract the good thinks I said about Melo. He is rapidly becoming irrelevant other than as a body you put out there to soak up a few minutes and hope he doesnt kill you.

Melo has held his feet a few times but overall I agree. Fabs biggest issue that I would like to see corrected is his habit of tapping or swatting rebounds instead of clamping down on them to secure the ball.

The temptation to jump to block the shot is incredible. This is coming from a short guy who thinks he can block shots. ANY kind of awareness in guys like Melo and Keita to stay verticle and not jump is amazing. Remember, these guys are already better at this task than any of us will ever be at our tasks.

Melo is probably among the best 40 shot blockers in the world today. Yet we consider him an unfinished product. Our bench warmer Keita is probably top 250 in the same field. Out of every person in the world. I am putting together a ranking as we speak.

That baseline bounce pass from Scoop that went right through both hands and legs was bad

lol...it was a tough catch, but the fact he didn't even touch it was crazy. Even with the bad hand last year I thought BMK did a better job grabbing rebounds, and at least almost catching passes. Of late it seems he can't avoid fumbling everything - last night was definitely not his best game, but Pitt isn't a great match-up for him either.

Yes -- touch catch. Our guys have to be aware and not throw hot, low passes to Keita.

Keita must have hands of rock ... Melo same kinda problems and its only gonna get tougher in our schedule as the really good teams go at him. Some of those shots from Melo ... phew. And a 7 footer dribbling ... CHARGE!!!

Keita does not have good hands. That has nothing to do with "spazzing." It's just not one of his "gifts." That's not going to change. He needs to rebound with two hands, and no one should throw him a bounce pass, especially when he is moving. Just the way it is.

He brings a lot of other things to table and there is no question that we need him for this team to be successful.

This drives me freaking crazy, because they always seem to go to the other team. I assume those are balls that he doesn't feel he is in position to actually rebound. I guess on the offensive end better that they get an offensive rebound out beyond the free throw line than right underneath the tin, but you'd like to think he could actually pull a few of those down instead of tipping them out.

Tyson Chandler does this all the time...on the offensive end. You dont tip them out when you defensive rebound because thats where the other teams guards are. You're 7 feet tall, just grab it! Fab was driving me crazy last night with how soft he was with the ball and dont even get me started on Keita.

I honestly think my 11 year old could pump fake keita. He needs to just calm down and not fall for every ball or pump fake thrown at him. Jb is pleading with him everytime it happens. Hope it gets better.

one of fabs strengths is when he does get beat he has been recovering by blocking a shot from behind. He probably has 10-12 blocks of this kind so far this year.
