Men's lacrosse to host Maryland, Syracuse in fall contests

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team will host a fall contest day on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. The Seawolves will host defending national champion Maryland, as well as Syracuse. Each team will play two games on the day, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a game between Stony Brook and Maryland. The Terps will take on Syracuse at 1 p.m. before the Orange and Seawolves face off at 3 p.m. to close out the day.

Prior to the fall contest day, Stony Brook will host its Island Uprising Prospect Day on Saturday, Oct. 21. Twenty college coaches will be working the highly competitive, all-day event held on the Stony Brook campus. For more details and registration, click here.

I hear that changes have been made to the regular season schedule and some old foes are back and some others have been dropped, can't say what they are right now but watch this space!

Alumni Game Sat Oct 14.
Correct, interesting timing as Clemson will torch it Friday night vs the football team.

I've heard of a 3rd scrimmage that will probably be closed to the public

2017 Lacrosse Weekend | Indigenous Values Initiative

To cap off the entire weekend, on Sunday the Syracuse University Lacrosse Program will be hosting an international lacrosse scrimmage in the Carrier Dome. This exciting event will feature the Iroquois Nationals 2018 team scrimmaging the Syracuse University Men’s lacrosse team.

Advanced sale tickets for LASNAI tournament and SU scrimmages will be available soon through the Indigenous Values Initiativewebsite (indigenousvalues.org). There is no charge for attending the Haudenosaunee Wooden Stick Festival.

Guess I was wrong about it being closed to the public

This will be the 1st Alumni Scrimmage in a long time that hasn't had a conflict with a Saturday football game. :):):)

Syracuse's scrimmage is the first of three challenging fall tests for the 2018 squad. In addition to the international scrimmages, 'Cuse will host its annual Alumni Game two weeks later, which always pits a talented roster of alums featuring a myriad of professionals against the current squad.

To cap off the fall, the Orange will travel to Stony Brook, to participate in a pair of scrimmages. 'Cuse will face a defending NCAA Champion Maryland squad and the host Seawolves on Oct. 22 to conclude their fall competition.

The first option initiates the 60-second shot clock immediately when a team gains possession. The second option allows officials to manage the 30-second clearing count (20-second beeper and 10-second hand count) and signal the start of the 60-second shot clock once the team enters the attack area —essentially allowing up to 90 seconds for a full-field possession.

In both options, the shot clock always will be reset to 60 seconds after a valid shot, which is defined as a shot taken from above goal line extended that hits the goalie or pipe.
