Virginia wasn’t No. 1 all season but is at the most important time, in the final Inside Lacrosse Men’s Division I Media Poll.

The Cavaliers are followed by NCAA runners-up Maryland, then North Carolina. Notre Dame leap-frogs Duke despite the Irish not making Championship Weekend — but the Irish played Maryland to OT while the Blue Devils put up little resistance to the Terps.

The first non-Tournament team ranked is Army at 13.

Poll probably too punative for Cuse given they have Lehigh ahead of us BUT...if the polls help shake things up at the Cuse coaching level, then GREAT!!

Didnt even expect Cuse to be that high . Two earned wins over the eventual champions surely helped and pool of truly strong teams got shallower after top eight or so especially with Ivies missing.

Rutgers is deserving of high ranking. Their game agaisnt UNC was impressive. Doubted the Drexels and Bryants but they represented themselves well. Lehigh? Navy really hurt Army

Will always believe that ND should have beat Maryland since they controlled play for 2/3rds of game Cant dismiss terps start out of gate and 46 second spurt in 4q but ND got away from how they play down stretch and that was self inflicted. They deserved to lose for such but placing them over Duke. is `correct
