Take advantage of the fact that a Thursday game gives you a little more time to rest up and teach in the film room. Let the guys know they got their worst game of the season out of their system and can move on to having their best game of the season.

Also, file a complaint with the ACC refs. If Pitt is going to go blitz heavy and ultra physical with their corners and not get any defensive PIs, you can't flag Wax for making a form tackle.

Agreed OiG.

That said....Fran has to make sure the team doesn't think since they played Thursday night that they didn't have another bye week.

We usually spiral on these.

Exceptions to me were 2001 post Miami game. I feel like this was similar to 93 (blowouts to Miami and WVU)

Yeah Allen must've been tackled out of bounds art least three times five plus yards from the boundary.

5-2 after 7 games and the majority of the team is healthy. I'll take it.

I don't think we can flush this, our scheme was systematically exposed and all our opponents have the blue print now. What the coaching staff needs to do is figure out what adjustments need to be made in case VTech tries to do the same thing.

I actually think the last thing we need is rest considering the two eggs we’ve laid coming off bye weeks lol.

Kyle just appears much sharper when he’s playing live every week.

We have to be able to run the ball.

I don't think we can with this O-Line, sadly.

On the plus side, I don't think all of our remaining opponents have defensive backs better than all our receivers.

I mean it was on full display all game that none of our studs were getting any separation from their D-backs (save for Orande a couple times before he got concussed.)

Credit to the Pitt d-backs... they were simply better than our receivers and had a perfect scheme against us.

Force us to run the ball and/or throw low percentage long balls. We don't seem capable of either.

I hope you're right.

I don’t think their D-Backs were that much better than our WR’s. I just think their D-Backs matched up well which requires precision passing and the precision passing just wasn’t there this game.

You can’t throw to the wrong side of receivers in a game like this and expect to get away with it, for example.

We weren't getting separation from their d-backs regardless of the pass accuracy from McCord.

Even on the passes McCord completed threading the needle, most receivers were immediately tackled because the d-backs were on them like white on rice.

Their defensive backs were good.

TBF, what choice do we have?

What good is it going to do to sit here, wring our hands, kvetch, and call for the coach to be fired (UNACCEPTABLE!!!!)?

Of course, that would drive clicks on the site, so have at it! ;)

Not denying that, but if you look at the early picks most of those are McCord throwing to the wrong side of the receiver.

Rushed throws often don't go where you want,

Even the last Valari pick , I think he wanted the TE to break in and finally just had to throw it up.

I wonder how much of it is because they knew they only had to cover for 2-3 seconds.

I hope our coaching staff reads your post just in case they haven't figure that out yet.

After two weeks to get ready, it looked like the Pitt D was in our huddle when the play was called. They seemed to know what was coming on almost every play. Our staff is got to get through the growing pains without having total disasters like this.
