Welcome to Pink Flamingo Day!
Pink Flamingo Day is dedicated to the kitschy lawn ornament that became a pop culture icon during the second half of the twentieth century. The pink flamingo was designed by Don Featherstone in 1957, while he was working at Union Products in Leominster, Massachusetts. In 2006, Union Products stopped producing the flamingos, and the following year Leominster’s mayor, Dead Mazzaralla, proclaimed June 23, Pink Flamingo Day. The copyright for the flamingos was purchased by HMC International in 2007, and in 2010 it was purchased by Cado manufacturing, which continues to produce the flamingos. Sadly, Mr. Featherstone passed away in 2015, one day before Pink Flamingo Day.

As a WR, did the impact of Amba Etta-Tawo have any effect on you? Did that kind of give you a taste of the kind of an impact you can have in this offense?

In terms of the football program, how they run their offense, and being in a power 5 conference they are going to be up there. However I feel that I need to take a visit first before I get ahead of myself. Which I plan on doing in July, although a date has not been set.

Syracuse football recruiting: Class of 2017 JUCO quarterback Clayton Welch commits to Syracuse (DO; Graham)
Junior college quarterback Clayton Welch committed to Syracuse on Thursday night, according to a tweet from Jon Hays, offensive coordinator at Butte College.

Welch played only one season at Butte in Oroville, California, giving him three years of eligibility at Syracuse.
Standing at 6-foot-5-inches and weighing 223 pounds, per his Hudl, Welch brings a big frame to the Orange quarterback room. He also runs a 4.88 40-yard dash, a 4.34 shuttle and has a 29.2 inch vertical, per Hudl.
Welch is the 29th member of the class of 2017, joining Tommy Devito as the only other gunslinger in the group. Track the rest of the 2017 class here.

Jaleel Berry signs with Boston College football (newyorksportswriters.org)
Jaleel Berry may not have been participating in a television game show, but he landed himself a heck of a parting gift.
After sweating out SAT scores this semester, the Nottingham senior has landed a football scholarship from Boston College. Syracuse.com reported that BC assistant coach Paul Pasqualoni (yes, the former Syracuse head coach) visited the school recently to make the offer official and Berry signed during a ceremony Tuesday.
The fifth-team all-state defensive lineman (see full team here) will report to campus Sunday following Nottingham's graduation a day earlier. He'll play defensive tackle for the Eagles.
"It was like a dream come true," Berry said. "Signing on the dotted line, it was like everything was in front of me. Being able to experience a full higher education is just amazing. Everything I've done and worked to be in this position all paid off."
More football: A couple of very large players managed to sneak past me in recent days with college commitment announcements. Erasmus Hall offensive tackle Matt Jones picked Ohio State and Tottenville linebacker Zihir Lacewell selected Rutgers.

'Rocko's Modern Life' movie to feature Syracuse native Tom Kenny (PS; Herbert)
A "Rocko's Modern Life" movie is on the way, 20 years after the Nickelodeon cartoon ended.
The kids network's latest nostalgic release will feature the return of the titular wallaby, his dog Spunky and best friends Heffer and Filburt in "Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling." The TV movie will air sometime in 2018, though a premiere date has not been announced.
Slash Film reports the film will feature original cast members Carlos Alazraui (as the voice of Rocko, Spunky and Leon); Tom Kenny (Heffer, Chuck, Really Really Big Man); Mr. Lawrence (Filburt Turtle, Maitre D); Charlie Adler (Ed and Bev Bighead, Mr. Dupette, Grandpa Wolfe Mrs. Fathead); Linda Wallem (Aunt Gretchen, Dr. Hutchinson); Jill Talley (Nosey); and series creator Joe Murray (Ralph Bighead).
Kenny, a Syracuse native who graduated from Bishop Grimes High School, is best known for voicing the titular character on another Nick series, "SpongeBob SquarePants."
