Welcome to Forgiveness Day!

Forgiveness Day is observed on June 26, 2017. The day is easily confused with International Forgiveness Day and Global Forgiveness Day in August. However, certainly any day that reminds people to forgive makes the world a more peaceful place. To join in Forgiveness Day's activities it is recommended to truly forgive someone.

Troubles and disputes should be ended on Forgiveness Day and people should get along with each other again. It would be a nice idea to call somebody, whom you have not spoken to in a while because you were too angry. Forgiving is a relieving process and not only on Forgiveness Day everyone should do that from time to time. This text has been taken from www.cute-calendar.com

Ranking the Top 100 College Football Teams for 2017: No. 62 Syracuse (herosports.com; Doughty)

In the 100 days leading up to the kickoff of the college football season on Saturday, Aug. 26, HERO Sports is ranking the top 100 teams in the FBS. You can find all the rankings and previews here.

NO. 62 SYRACUSE
New head coach Dino Babers injected much-needed energy into Syracuse football last year -- even if it didn't show in the win column. He delivered big second-year jumps at his two previous stops and has the quarterback, offensive skill players, veteran linebackers and intriguing transfer-laden secondary to do the same at Syracuse.

The biggest problem? The schedule is a nightmare.

2016 RECORD: 4-8 (2-6, ACC)

Syracuse missed a bowl game for the third-straight season and ninth time in the last 12 years. Their gave up 62 points to Lamar Jackson and Louisville in Week 2 and never recovered, yielding 50 or more points four times on their way to averaging an ACC-worst 38.6 points per game (120th nationally).

The offense, however, took a step forward under Babers. They averaged 11.3 more points, 165 more passing yards and 120 more total yards.

HEAD COACH: DINO BABERS (2ND YEAR, 4-8 OVERALL)
Syracuse failed to win five games fo the third-straight season but this four-win season brought optimism for the future under Dino Babers.

The first-year head coach revamped a stale offense with his high-flying system he developed under Art Briles at Baylor and perfected at Eastern Illinois and Bowling Green. Now it's just a matter of getting the right players to turn the Orange into an offensive juggernaut in the ACC.

Scoop Bradshaw — Meet the 2017 Syracuse Football team - The Juice Online (the juice; Cheng)

Over the summer, The Juice Online will be featuring players on the 2017 Syracuse football team as we countdown to kickoff. Today, The Juice Online looks at sophomore defensive back Scoop Bradshaw.

When Syracuse played in its Spring Showcase in April, two names in the secondary stood out as starters: Sophomore cornerbacks Scoop Bradshaw and safety Evan Foster.

Both played mostly played special teams in their rookie years at Syracuse, with Bradshaw seeing some time at cornerback as the season wore on and the injuries started mounting.

Syracuse coach Dino Babers singled Bradshaw out during his post-game press conference as being a big part of the team’s future in the secondary.

“Scoop’s been making a lot of plays,” Babers said. “Some of the backs in the ACC, they’re big cats, and we need to make sure we have as many physical people as we can.”

» More SU football: Meet defensive back Antwan Cordy

Still, there’s plenty of time to go before Babers anoints Bradshaw a starter. He will have plenty of competition in the fall for a defense surrendered 38.6 points per game, ranking a ghastly 120th in the country.

The Orange return Antwan Cordy and Juwan Dowels, who were both injured in Syracuse’s week 2 matchup against Louisville. SU was also without junior safety Daivon Ellison, who led Syracuse with 57 solo tackles.

“You’ve seen some of the things they can do,” Babers said of Evans and Bradshaw. “They’re in a position to challenge for those positions. We’ll see where the dust settles and who ends up No. 1.”

Inside slant: Bradshaw will certainly be in the mix for a starting defensive back position, and has already had a full year in SU’s Tampa-2 defense, unlike Cordy and Dowels, who missed a combined 20 games last season.

Syracuse football recruiting: Class of 2018 kicker Cory Smigel set to join SU as a preferred walk on (DO; Graham)

Class of 2018 kicker Cory Smigel committed to Syracuse as a preferred walk on, he tweeted on Friday.

Officially committed to Syracuse !

No words can describe the amount of gratitude towards THE @adamtanalski pic.twitter.com/HsP3DpWYK2

— Cory Smigel (@CorySmigel) June 22, 2017

A 2016 graduate of North Royalton (Ohio) High School, Smigel has been taking classes at Erie Community College while not playing football. That means the kicker will have all four years of eligibility remaining at SU.

Smigel averaged 44.4 yards on kickoffs with a long of 60 his senior year in high school, per maxpreps.com. Similarly, he averaged 37.1 yards per punt with a long of 61 yards.

The 13th addition to Dino Babers’ 2018 class at Syracuse, Smigel is the only kicker right now but is the fourth commit in the last week, joining Anthony Queeley, Willem Froumy and Taj Harris. Track the rest of the class of 2018 here.

Florida State Football: Is Deondre Francois the ACC's best QB? | FOX Sports (foxsports.com; Singleton)

Is Florida State football’s Deondre Francois the ACC’s best QB? Duke’s Daniel Jones and Louisville”s Lamar Jackson think otherwise.

Deondre Francois is the most battled test quarterback coming back to the ACC. In his first year as a starter at Florida State, he played six top-15 battles. He went 4-2 in those six games. He is the best big-time quarterback in the ACC, maybe even the country. Besides his horrible game against Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals, Francois has an adjusted QB rating north of 80 percent and all a passer rating over 100.

Francois is also the most dependable quarterback returning to the ACC. In fact, he only threw seven interceptions. That is tied for least in the ACC by quarterbacks that threw over 350 attempts. But unlike Syracuse’s Eric Dungey, the quarterback Francois is tied with, Francois only threw four interceptions in conference play.

Also, he topped the conference with zero multiple-interception games. Francois is one of the better quarterbacks in conference but he doesn’t let it go to his head. He has the traits all coaches want in a quarterback: never get too high or too low, be coachable, have a short memory and not making the same mistake twice.

Along with Francois’ physical tools and his stats, he is mentally leaps and bounds above his peers in the ACC.

His first game as starter was the season-opener last year against Ole Miss. Francois could have been knocked out of the game on multiple hits from the Ole Miss defense. But we all know how the game ended. Francois and the Seminoles came back from a 15-point halftime deficit and won the game by 11.

Later in the season, he played bitter rival Miami on the road. The Noles once again erase a halftime deficit and won the game. They did again against NC State.

The thing all three of those games have in common is they were all road or neutral site games.

Florida State Football: The fight for ACC supremacy | isportsweb (sportsweb.com; Wood)

The kick split the uprights from 54 yards out. Time expired. A single player ran down the field throwing up the tomahawk chop at Doak Campbell Stadium, but the famous celebration was not joined by the war chant. In fact, the fans were unusually silent.

The player throwing up the chop was dressed in Carolina Blue and white, not Garnet and Gold. UNC’s kicker, Nick Weiler, had just put an end to Florida State’s playoff hopes and a shot at the ACC Title in early October.

On the surface, 2016 was a relatively successful campaign for Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles. Florida State posted its fifth consecutive season with 10 or more wins, and won its first Bowl Game since the National Championship in the 2013 season, with an Orange Bowl victory over Michigan. However, Florida State’s third place ACC finish (5-3), behind Louisville and Clemson, was the worst finish of the Fisher era in Tallahassee.

Boat owners party on Lakeview Amphitheater's new dock (PS; Tulloch)

The new dock at Lakeview Amphitheater drew plenty of boats on the venue's opening night of the 2017 summer season, for headliner Zac Brown Band.

Twenty boats of various sizes parked at the dock on Saturday night. Boat owners blasted country music, ate, drank and avoided the heavy traffic in the Amp's parking lots.
Larry and Kim Kinne sailed out from Bridgeport, N.Y. to the Lakeview Amphitheater with their family.

They had never traveled to the Amp before.

"This [the dock] is the best part of the night," Larry said. "This is exactly what a boater wants. This changed everything."

In the future, they said they hope the venue will offer boaters access to power and the option to stay overnight after the show.

"I understand they have another concert tomorrow, for Bob Dylan," Kim said. "But if they told us to leave by noon, we'd be out of here, just like a hotel."

Their boat was the largest on the dock. Their daughter and her husband came along, with their dog Bella, in the second biggest boat.

"The marina is just beautiful out here," Larry said.

At 24 ft. wide and 40 ft. long, the dock slips can accommodate at least 25 boats of various sizes. Parking a boat at the dock costs $20.

Interesting quotes Tulloch chose for the boater's at the amp story. Three of the boater's there were good friends of mine, and, there are some significant issues they weren't happy with. I'm guessing he had to walk through just about everybody to get those quotes.

It doesn't make sense to kick all of them out of an unlit area at 11 PM. If you're going to provide access, provide access. But, it's a really tricky deal to send everyone out of there late at night saying find somewhere else to dock. Not really encouraging more boater's to come.

Then again, not sure I'd want my anchor down there, could melt.
