Welcome to Single Tasking Day!

Multitasking makes it difficult to focus, easier to make mistakes, and harder to be productive. Projects take longer—about fifty percent less gets accomplished when one tries to do a few things at once, instead of working on one thing at a time. Tasks may also end up half-finished, or get finished with low quality. Although about two percent of people can multitask, the overwhelming majority of people can't and don't benefit from trying to.

Single Tasking Day came as a response to all the multitasking habits that surround us. It is a day to focus and concentrate on one thing at a time. Maybe only one thing will get accomplished all day. Maybe multiple things will. Either way, the day is for only working on one thing at a time.

Syracuse football spring schedule posted (oswegocountytimes.com)

Orange football fans are invited to take an up-close look at this year’s team during the Syracuse Football Spring Preview on April 13 at the Carrier Dome.

The event marks the culmination of the Orange’s spring practice season. Third-year head coach Dino Babers will hold 14 practices over the span of six weeks beginning March 4. The spring schedule also includes the program’s annual Pro Day, which is set for March 19.

During the Spring Preview, fans are invited to select their seats to watch the team in action this fall. Various sections of the Dome will be marked and fans will be able to preview different vantage points before purchasing 2018 season tickets, which are on sale online at www.cuse.com/tickets, by phone (888-DOME-TIX), and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B).

The 2018 schedule features six home dates, including Atlantic Coast Conference matchups with Florida State (Sept. 15), North Carolina (Oct. 20), N.C. State (Oct. 27), and Louisville (Nov. 9).

CFB context for Peter King's QB draft destinations (si.com; Single)

In this week’s Monday Morning Quarterback column, The MMQB’s Peter King took some educated guesses as to where each of the quarterbacks available during the 2018 NFL offseason might land. Among that group were nine of the top QB prospects in late April’s draft, from the current leading contenders for the No. 1 pick to the stat-stuffing college stars that project to be developmental cases at the next level.

As King concedes, so much will change in the next two months that could alter these forecasts, with free agency opening in March and pre-draft workouts giving teams a chance to study each prospect inside and out. But what if these predictions end up being exactly right? It’s way too early to have a clear sense of any team’s outlook for next season, but college football followers who have watched these quarterbacks grow over the past few years can connect enough dots to assemble a rough picture of what that fit would mean for each player’s rookie season and beyond.

Below, we build off King’s analysis and envision a path for each QB to succeed in the NFL home laid out for him in this week’s MMQB. To read his complete explanations for every prediction referenced below, along with picks for this year’s top free agent signal-callers, dig into the full column.

Syracuse ties high-temperature record for today by 1 a.m. (PS; Coin)

Shortly after midnight, Syracuse had already tied the record for the warmest Feb. 21 on record.

"A record high temperature of 65 degrees was set at Syracuse at 12:23 a.m." the National Weather Service said. "This ties the old record of 65 set in 1997 and 1953."

The temperature at Hancock International Airport had dropped to 61 degrees by 6 a.m., but is forecast to keep climbing after the sun rises. In late morning, the approaching cold front will win out over the sun's warmth, and temperatures will drop through the day and hit the 30s by Thursday morning.

Syracuse also set a record Tuesday, with a high of 69. That shattered the old Feb. 20 record of 65, set in 1930.

It was a warm day across Upstate New York, with most major cities setting temperature records. The warmest spot was Dansville, in Livingston County, with 76 degrees.
