I've been in touch with the Athletics Department regarding the viewing experiences of Syracuse's games which are part of the ACC Network package. The Miami game was the first that fell in this group, the VA Tech game will be the second.

They are now aware of the issues that have been experienced (and reported here) and these issues are being addressed now.

Syracuse games should be the game that's shown by ACC affiliate stations in the traditional Syracuse markets. ESPN3 blackouts should not occur in any other markets.

If you experience any other issues please let me know and I'll be sure that the right people on the hill are made aware of them.

There's no need to convey comments of "it was easier last year with SNY", those are known. Hopefully a similar solution for non-ESPN/non-CBS/non-RSN games can be found in the future.

For this season, if you don't have a local ACC Network affiliate station then you should be able to watch games via ESPN3 and possibly theacc.com (they showed the Miami game).

Based on the ACC's website, here's what's left. The @VPI, NC State and @FSU games are the only remaining questionable games.

Remaining schedule:
Tue Jan 07 @ Virginia Tech 9:00 PM ESPN3
Sat Jan 11 vs North Carolina 12:00 PM ESPN
Mon Jan 13 @ Boston College 9:00 PM ESPNU
Sat Jan 18 vs Pitt 4:00 PM ESPN/ESPN2
Sat Jan 25 @ Miami 1:00 PM CBS
Wed Jan 29 @ Wake Forest 9:00 PM RSN
Sat Feb 01 vs Duke 6:30 PM ESPN
Mon Feb 03 vs Notre Dame 7:00 PM ESPN
Sun Feb 09 vs Clemson 6:00 PM ESPNU
Wed Feb 12 @ Pitt 7:00 PM ESPN/ESPN2
Sat Feb 15 vs NC State 3:00 PM ACCN
Wed Feb 19 vs Boston College 7:00 PM ESPN2
Sat Feb 22 @ Duke 6:00 PM ESPN/ESPN2
Mon Feb 24 @ Maryland 7:00 PM ESPN
Sat Mar 01 @ Virginia 4:00 PM ESPN/ESPN2
Tue Mar 04 vs Georgia Tech 7:00 PM RSN
Sun Mar 09 @ Florida State 3:00 PM ACCN

Moontan thanks for raising this with the SUAD. It's ridiculous that Tuesday's game at VaTech isn't on TV in the NYC market. The affiliate - WLNY - that carries the ACC Net (and did show last Saturday's Miami game) is not picking up the game Tuesday night choosing to show a repeat of Dr. Phil instead. Who in the Ath Dept can address this and get all the SU games on in the NYC market? I assume they would think this is important to their "own NYC" strategy.

I'm on the MD/PA border and was blacked out on ESPN3 so thanks a lot. I look forward to not having to wait for the replay Tuesday.

Just as our forefathers had "No Taxation without Representation." we have "Hey ACC, we wanna be on TV!"

I looked at 323 on TW here in Syracuse and they are telecasting a woman's basketball game. Now I have to wait until tomorrow when perhaps Mike Waters or someone at syracuse.com will tell us what channel the game is REALLY on.

This is completely, totally unacceptable. But I'm sure "they" know that. Anyway, thanks for talking with "them!"

I'm in Philadelphia - there was no Verizon coverage and the game was blacked out on espn 3. The ACC network coverage in the mid-Atlantic is pathetic. Thanks Moontan for raising the visibility on this!

It's on a major network during prime time? Let me check this out! (fading footsteps) (footsteps becoming louder) I can't believe it! Doesn't NBC have sitcoms or dramas to air on Tuesday night? This is so weird.

So, it's set to record. I don't get it. Oh, thanks!

Odd i know.

After reading these horror stories of people not being able to watch games i am so glad i never moved out of syracuse.

Only in the Syracuse market. I'd imagine they get better ratings here for an SU basketball game than whatever garbage is normally on that channel at that time.

You mean no The Biggest Loser? What the hell. It was so much easier last year with SNY.

This is how the Raycom package has worked for decades. They farm out the TV rights to local broadcasters. Most these days seem to be affiliated with CW or MyTV, but also NBC, FOX, and the like.

We really need to pin information on how various viewing options work.

Channel 3 (WSTM) show Yankee games on Friday Nite prime time during the season. Throws me off too, as I'll go looking for the game on YES and say, hmmmm, perhaps a rainout, and poof there it is on channel 3.

I have no probs in az. It's funny last year I asked a directv person why I'd sign up for FC when all the games were on SNY in the sports pack. She said they should be blacked out but for whatever reason they weren't. But she said it should be like yanks/msg given the mlb package. Pretty random.

Yes, unfortunately. In the past I've missed out on Syracuse CBS national broadcasts because the CBS affiliate here in the Raleigh/Durham market was showing a Raycom produced Ga Tech/NC State broadcast or a similar awful ACC game. Glad that won't be a problem any longer.

You could get the Miami game on "theacc.com". It was actually a terrific feed. This Tuesday's game isn't supposed to be blacked on ESPN3 in SEPA, but we'll see.

The 2nd half of The Biggest Loser, and Chicago Fire will be replayed Saturday Night at 8 PM on Ch 6.

The fact that it's not on in NYC is a joke.
If NYC, and by extension a local station there, cared about SU hoops then SU's games distributed by the ACC Network would be available. I would expect to see so e changes on this front by next season, but we'll have to wait and see.

Technically, that could still be a problem. The local affiliates who purchased the ACC Network rights will air the local team's game (on their station or a sister station) over most other programming... especially another hoops game.

Connecticut viewers have only ESPN3 it seems. We are not far from Syracuse or NYC or Boston but too small to matter I guess. I have been able to watch all the games but watching ESPN3 on a tablet is not my ideal watching conditions. Better than nothing of course.

CLEARLY, NYC doesn't care about SU hoops.

Blasphemy.

I'm in Fairfield County, Connecticut and have Optimum (formerly Cablevision) as my cable service. The SU-Miami game was carried on my system by WLNY which is a Long Island station and - I believe - is channel 15 on my system. I guess that is my local ACC affiliate…?

The ESPN Full Court feed for the Miami game had a clarity that was somewhere far below Low Definition. It was like viewing the Zapruder film or pictures of the Loch Ness Monster.

I'm like, "Why the he!! is Christmas taking that three!!!! Oh wait, that's Cooney."
