I use google chrome at the office... and the site literally doesnt work on there any more. Freezed all of chrome almost everytime I open it.

Im now on IE, and the alerts 'preview' take a while to show and when most of the time when i hit 'like' it takes me to a new page and asks me if i want to 'like' that comment.

No idea what the problem is, but I changed your style. Let me know if things get better.

Not sure what you did... but Chrome seems to be working much better now.

It's called the "responsive style" (mobile). You won't see some graphics, or the drop down menus, but it will work much faster than the default style.
