Couple new albums out today for fine a upstate September evening for a bonfire and music. First by Charles Wesley Godwin. Great talent.

Watching PBS Newshour tonight, there was an interview with the primaries of the Trucks-Tedeschi Band, and also long-time vocalist Mike Mattison. Down to earth people. Then in the outro, there was this note:

"Derek and the Domino's album 'Layla' was released the day Susan Tedeschi was born, and was the inspiration for Derek Trucks' name."

Pretty cool. "History doesn't repeat, but it does often rhyme." :)

They're really impressive. Not much stage rap, but they get on it right away. We sat in the second row of the Jack Singer Concert Hall and could literally see the sweat running down the sides of their faces. It was a terrific show.

I posted Tedeschi’s angel from montgomery -> sugaree about a year ago in this thread and its possibly my favorite live song ever. Absolutely transcendent live experience.
