Well you could say Rutgers has been in the football conference since 91, but they haven't really been in the football conference since 91... if you know what I mean.

False as stated. Rutgers was added for football only in 1991 and all sports in 1995. Syracuse is the only member of the original Big East that played "BCS football" then and when the football league was formed in 1991. Pitt was added for basketball in 1982 and was also an original member of the football league in 1991. For that matter, Temple was also a member of the original football league in 1991, but went on a hiatus for a couple of years and came back this year.
