Can anyone explain to me why everyone doesn't wear Mark Kelso foam caps on their helmets?

It's not rocket science - have a hard helmet to protect your own head under a softer cap to protect other heads.

What's the downside? It's possible that the extra mass of the foam offsets the protective value but i doubt it

I'm confused by the league's talk about better helmets. Every time they improve them to protect the wearer better, the more dangerous they get.

Until the face masks are removed of made so that they have players think twice about leading with their heads I do not see what can be done.

Aren't they trying to convince players to lead with their face instead of the top of their heads? I'd think removing the face mask would make it worse.

The problem was not as bad before the cage as players were concerned with damage their faces, teeth etc.

Leather helmets wouldn't stop stupidity among football players. No matter how many fines and suspensions they get they will always lead with the head.
