As has been proven throughout the annals of time, the best way to predict the outcome of this game we call football is to delve into the quality and number of former players drafted by the New York Football Giants. Advanced metrics have shown a strong correlation between the two. They say that 60% of the time, it works every time. So let's take a look at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Hokies vs the Syracuse Orangemen...

Number of Players Drafted by the Giants
Syracuse- 9
VPI- 2
Advantage: Cuse, not a surprise for a program that barely existed before the 90s and grew on the strength of Syracuse's back.

Highest Drafted Giants Player
Syracuse- 19th overall
VPI- 32nd overall
Advantage: Cuse, at least they put up a fight

Offensive Players
Syracuse- Justin Pugh OL (2013 1st Round, 19th overall), Bruce Tarbox OL (1961 2nd Round), Joe Morris RB (1982 2nd), Ryan Nassib QB (2013 4th), David Tyree WR (2003 6th), Bob Yates OL (1960 7th)

VPI- David Wilson RB (2012 1st Round, 32nd overall)

Advantage: Cuse, I don't even think a comment is needed here

Although Wilson's career was impacted by injury. He was the first NFL player with 200 return and 100 rushing yards in a game. That game also set a NYG record for all purpose yards in a game, which he still holds.

Defensive Players
Syracuse- Will Allen DB (2001 1st Round), Jay Bromley DL (2014 3rd), Jerry Kimmel LB (1986 10th)

VPI- Jayron Hosley DB (2012 3rd Round)

Advantage: Cuse, after taking those VA Tech players as their first two selections in the 2012 draft the Giants must have decided to never draft another player from VA Tech again.

All joking aside it is odd that VA Tech has had the weakest list thus far.

There you have it folks. The stats don't lie. This game will end up being a laugher, as the Syracuse Orange defeat the VA Tech Hokies. Until next time.
