The scouting reports indicate Woodall, the normal Pitt starting PG, is again not expected to play.

Pitt will likely start redshirt frosh Isaiah Epps, who is a poor defender and prone to turnovers. When he is out of the game, they will likely have Gibbs run the point. In either situation, Pitt will be prone to turning the ball over. Given our defense forces turnovers so well, this could be a game where we get a lot of turnovers.

Will be interesting to see if JB uses the press, and how Pitt responds if/when he does. This would seem to be a game where the press can do a great deal of damage.

Would Dixon risk losing Woodall for the rest of the season to try and steal this one?

I hope we press them a good bit. When I have seen teams press Pitt (without Woodal) Pitt doesn't even look to attack it, they try to get over the time line and then set up their half court offense.

I'd press the hell out of this team. I can't see him playing Woodall. with his type of injury he could do far forse damage.

Uconn proved last year that you can finish lousy in conference and still make a run. I would take my lumps and get him healthy and then regroup and try to get things going.

JB seems to employ the press selectively - when we need to infuse some energy into our offense or for a change of pace. I can't ever recall him relying on it for extended periods as a defensive strategy.

I think it depends on how our offense is playing. Pitt is such a bad offensive team that we don't want to give them any easy baskets like the press can sometimes do (easy baskets also would help their confidence). If we are struggling to score and sitting in a 12-12 game midway thru first half we will see press to try to speed up the game.

Definitely should press, othewise the game takes on the same ugh feeling prior to when we pressed the Friars on Sat.

Woodall reportedly hasn't practiced in weeks. I would assume there is almost zero chance that Woodall suits up tonight. And somehow I still think this is going to be a war. I want this game badly.

I hope JB presses and attacks the entire game. We have to do something different than the norm to beat this team, that has been proven over and over again.

O/U on Gibbs 3's is set at 6
My guess is that JB opts to take away Gibbs, he only gets 2 or 3 3s and forces someone else to beat us. He and Nasir Robinson, who hurt us last year badly, are the two I would try and focus on. Give the other players a little space and see what happens.

Dixon seems far too smart for that. As much as I hate Pitt, I have a great amount of respect for Dixon as a coach, and I just can't see him doing that.

This would qualify as a What loss at this point. If you'll notice, stars are never the cause of our What losses, so Gibbs can get all the points he wants. I'll be worried if someone like John Johnson going off on us.

If we press, it should be done sporadically to surprise them. When good teams know it is coming, they often get layups.

ALL our losses to Pitt are What losses in my book!!
