My opinion…
You’re sure it was COVID?My opinion…
Garrett had a bad case of COVID last week. Forced him to miss multiple practices. Forced him to miss the Tuesday 2 Minute Drill for last week. A bunch of other players had it too.
Garrett refuses to use excuses. Just like last year, when he played hurt the last 3 or 4 games. All he said about the poor performance of the offense in the first of the Purdue game was that it was his fault and he played about as bad he he could play.
His willingness to take blame, even when it is not his fault, makes him a great leader.
And he is right about the Purdue corners and their constant interference. Awful reffing is the only thing that kept Purdue in the game. That Purdue CB had to rip Jones’ arm out of its socket to get called for a penalty…..
What? Quite the assumption.My opinion…

Not really….
Shrader has said he was sick as well as others…
Garrett Shrader confirms there was a team illness last week, says he’s ready to go for Week 4
Neither Shrader nor SU coach Dino Babers went into specifics on the issue.www.syracuse.com
“We did have some sickness going around,” Shrader said. “I was fine.”
My thought was Covid as well. Historically teams have disclosed when a “bug” goes through a team, for them to say an undisclosed illness makes me think it was Covid.Ok. Just jump to COVID though?

There’s still a fear of disclosing a Covid outbreak within a team.
For the record, the Elton John concert turned out to be a Covid festival. Lots of people I know that went were sick last week.
Whatever is was, COVID or not, Tomcat’s point is spot on. Shrader had an illness that impacted his game preparation and impacted some teammates as well. This affected his performance in game. He put the offensive “struggles” on his shoulders and his alone. He gave credit to several others for the game winning TD. The guy is a leader and I am THRILLED he is Orange.
Not a big leap, it’s out there more than anything else.Ok. Just jump to COVID though?
They let a lot go, but it's a big stretch to say the refs were on Purdue's side. We got away with some contact from our dbs too.My opinion…

I actually felt they were pretty fair and better than what we usually see from ACC refs.
We're any of the refs from the Purdue game part of the crew from the Rutgers game?Agree. And Shrader was only talking about that last drive.
Those refs were fine. Had the balls to call the unsportsmanlike against Brohm that they didn't against Schiano last year (who was much worse).

I wasn't able to watch the game live, and recorded it on youtube tv, which I have also not watched yet, but to hear that the opponent is complaining that they lost due to officiating, is music-of-the-spheres level spiritual satisfaction. And a Big 1? crew, to boot! They let a lot go, but it's a big stretch to say the refs were on Purdue's side. We got away with some contact from our dbs too.

It's kind of crazy too, because they were all legit calls that cost them. And they benefitted from a lot of non-calls all game. It just so happened that the calls against them were clumped together.I wasn't able to watch the game live, and recorded it on youtube tv, which I have also not watched yet, but to hear that the opponent is complaining that they lost due to officiating, is music-of-the-spheres level spiritual satisfaction. BIg ten refs ***They let a lot go, but it's a big stretch to say the refs were on Purdue's side. We got away with some contact from our dbs too.

I'm aware they were big 10 refs. I meant they were better than most of the ACC refs we get.BIg ten refs ***
