and getting the win in spite of putting up a stinker. To have had such awful performances and a complete lack of getting any breaks with the ball going in, it's fantastic that we still got the win. With adversity there is also ample opportunity and this group somehow found a way to tough it out and get the win. Those last 4 minutes and the way they got it done enables me to give them a pass on the other 36 or so when it just wasn't happening for them them.

Hopefully each player can take something positive from this game and it will help us going forward. Cooney can see that he doesn't have to hit all his shots for us to win and if he can focus on providing some other aspect or getting a shot for someone else he might be able to clear his head enough to make that next shot opportunity.

Rak can see that he can be that guy for us that gets the key rebound or goes strong to the hoop to get that much needed score to get off the schneid.

When it really, really mattered these kids got it done and I"m very impressed!

True but that was as fugly a W is there is. Yes, a W but still...

I've also been leaving to self-ban and avoid typing something stupid.
Nothing wrong bro. Emotions run high these dogfights. None of us find it easy to control the frustration with these guys. They're so good that we expect the best. Best part is that when they're (seemingly) at their worst, that we're starting to believe in their resiliency, grit to come back in an awfully played game. I step away for a few minutes but get right back to it, even if they're down big.

Over the last few years...most of the time since 03, I've been very confident when things aren't going right for the Cuse that they will find a way. Part of it is coaching, part of it is heady players and part of it is difference makers. Occasionally there is a foul shooting hiccup but I'd guessing SU pulls out far more wins when they aren't firing on all cylinders than they don't...same with close games down to the wire. Doesn't making watching the games any less painful but it is testimony to the leadership of the staff and players.

JB put it nicely in his presser when he said the team has a lot of resolve.

That's what I see in this year's team that I think can make this a special season.
They've put up a few clunkers this year where many teams might have folded up the tents and gotten beat, but this group seems to find a way to hang in there and tough out a win somehow - stepping things up on D and hitting the clutch shots when they really need them.

Dude. I liked that for your post, but also your avatar. Sherm was a delight.

Glad to see the boys stayed calm during a game like this. Can't say the same for myself, I nearly my pants at the thought of losing our first game in the ACC, especially against Miami. Oh no, I think I did myself... too much too drink... good night. Somewhat seriously though, my in-laws are HUGE dukee fans and nothing was better than to see us squeak out a game like this and at the same time see them stumble against Rudy.
