Axe - reporter at Syracuse.com

Gottlieb's show goes into that slot.

Better than 50/50 Rome's show bumps Lindsley.

Ugh I hate Rome. total douchebag. cant even believe people would actually listen to him.

with hoops season upon us I would totally take gottlieb in a local slot. Although best scenario is bringing Brian Barrett back from Virginia and giving him a slot.

Let's put it this way- No one will be surprised where Axe ends up.

And the Operations Manager for 1260 already said they're going to keep local programming in that slot. I used to work at that station group- Tom Mitchell is not a PR-spin lie-through-his-teeth kinda guy.

Here's where he said what he said- http://www.cnyradio.com/2012/11/30/brent-axe-leaving-the-score-1260/

That is surprising. Why have a deal with CBS sports radio for just their evening and overnight stuff? Looks like the Orangefizz guy has the overnight job.

The Jake and Bees show.

Axe becomes a reporter at Syracuse.com...while Rahme and other savvy analytical journalists are out.

I get it and Axe is a known brand locally...but something just rots ass with all this.

it's hard to believe that 1260 is a stepping stone for syracuse.com

axe wants that heisman voting ticket

I really shouldn't be saying this, but I've heard from a very reliable source that our very own SWC75 will be replacing the Axeman starting next week with "The Steve in North Syracuse Show".

It would be too much like work...WORK!

Actually Plavin will be hosting the show until they decide on a permament replacement.

He does a good post game show but needs to learn to relax more, put some humor in it and intiate discussions rather than just barking out opnions if he's going to do a daily 4 hour show.

I know some people didn't care for Axe but I saw him as a radio version of the neighborhood bartender and always found his show a friendly place to talk sports. I'll miss his show, which I've been listening to regularlay since I retired four years ago.

While I have never met the am personally I do know another sports talk host who worked at the station where Rome started and he said even as a "rookie" Rome was an .

Work? The work is done. You have already created about 1,044 hrs of content.

I posted my preference for Barrett a few days ago and you agreed with me. Let me take this opportunity to agree with you and maybe we can get the right people to climb on board.

Would Barrett come back? How do the markets, (and the $), compare?

What is that and he can't do both?

From Google Cache of the job posting. Sounds like a demotion to me. Who would leave their own radio show to be a blogger? (no offense Sean Keely)
