This is my second one and like the last one, it fell apart. Why do they even bother with these? Just wait the two weeks for the permanent crown.

I swallowed one while eating pizza. It was made out of this hard rubber-like stuff similar to clear football mouthpieces. It was there at the start of the office Christmas Party. But after I was done munching on a couple of slices of pizza (that terrible Chicago deep doo-doo stuff), it wasn't.

The worst for sure, I screwed around with mine for two weeks, putting it back, losing it. My latest is waiting for an implant for one tooth for 7-8 months, doc goes in to put post and says the substrate isn't solid enough and we need to start over. 8-9 month process all over again. Obviously no charge but pain in the arse.

I'm guessing what I had on 2 of my teeth prior to veneers were essentially temporary crowns. 1 broke and left me with a jacked up smile for a week. The other made it to the veneer appointment intact. I also had two filling fall out as a kid but they were on baby teeth, so the dentist just ended up pulling the teeth. I don't know why that wasn't the first option.

It's because all of the temporary crown manufacturing jobs have been outsourced.

Don't worry dasher, your president will bring the manufacturing back to American soil. And it will be great. Huge even. Bigly.

Wow that was my nightmare when I had an implant. Luckily it all worked out ok. Waiting on my other front tooth to bite the dust now, so I can drop another 4 grand on an implant. Stupid 10 year old me.

I had a similar situation. I had one on a front tooth and it kept falling out. I was scheduled for the veneer to be put on but I had a business trip to West VA the week prior. I was freaking out, but my dentist said not to worry about it since I was only going to WV. HA. He told me he could say this since he's from Kentucky originally.

As a dentist they are used just to delay your appointment... Seriously, they're useless in most situations.

I just called my dentist and they said they put it in to stop the tooth from getting tender.

True. Over two weeks the tooth can get like that in some situations. Usually I just get the full crown done right away and not prolong the process.
